Andreas Mikkelsen set to join Hyundai Motorsport on a full-time basis for the 2018 and 2019 FIA World Rally Championship seasons Mikkelsen will join Thierry Neuville, Dani Sordo and Hayden Paddon under contract with the team for next season, the team’s fifth year in WRC The Norwegian will compete in his first event for Hyundai Motorsport at next weekend’s Rally de España, alongside compatriot co-driver Anders Jæger. Alzenau, Germany September 28, 2017 – Hyundai Motorsport has today confirmed that Andreas Mikkelsen has signed a two-year deal to join the team for the 2018 and 2019 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) seasons. Mikkelsen will compete in all rounds of the 2018 championship in a Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC, co- driven by fellow Norwegian Anders Jæger. Hyundai Motorsport’s existing crews of Thierry Neuville/Nicolas Gilsoul, Dani Sordo/Marc Martí and Hayden Paddon/Seb Marshall all remain under contract for the 2018 season. Andreas Mikkelsen said: “I am delighted that Hyundai Motorsport has offered me the chance to return to the WRC with a full-time seat for 2018 and 2019. Even before my first rally with the team, I feel that I have settled in quickly, and it is clear to me that I am joining a world-class team with realistic chances of fighting for both Drivers’ and Manufacturers’ championships. European champions Esapekka Lappi/Janne Ferm (FIN/FIN) got the first three stage best times on Saturday on the new rally car's first start in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). Going into the final day, this sees "Flying Finn" Lappi in second place in the overall standings, directly ahead of the second ŠKODA team Pontus Tidemand/Emil Axelsson (S/S). "We are delighted with how the WRC debut in the new Fabia R5 is developing for us so far. But our main aim is to finish the rally," said ŠKODA Motorsport Director Michal Hrabánek. On the hardest day of the Rally de Portugal with 165.40 kilometres scheduled, on the winding gravel tracks around Porto, the high-tech four-wheel drive showed how much potential it has. Right on the first stage, Baião 1, Lappi got the historic first WRC best time in the new ŠKODA Fabia R5, 4.2 seconds faster than his team-mate Tidemand. Hyundai Motorsport targets titles in 2019 FIA World Rally Championship Hyundai Motorsport has outlined its ambitions to compete for the FIA World Rally Championship manufacturers’ and drivers’ titles in 2019 Revised crew line-up sees Thierry Neuville and Andreas Mikkelsen tackle the complete season with Dani Sordo scheduled for eight rounds and Sébastien Loeb for six. Under new Team Director Andrea Adamo, Hyundai Motorsport will contest its most comprehensive season in WRC to date with 14 rounds, including a new event in Chile. Birmingham, UK January 11, 2019 – On the eve of the official WRC season launch at the Autosport International show, Hyundai Motorsport has outlined its intentions to compete once again at the very forefront of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), with its sights set firmly on the manufacturers’ and drivers’ titles. The team finished as runners-up in 2018, for the third time in a row, having taken the title fight down to the wire. In one of the closest, most hotly contested seasons in recent years, a three-way battle was only concluded at the season finale in Australia. Running a revised crew line-up and with an extended calendar of 14 rounds in 2019, Hyundai Motorsport will aim to revisit the competitive form that helped it score three victories and 11 podium finishes last season. With WRC’s regulations remaining stable, the team has been able to evolve the technical foundations of its rally winning Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC. All aspects of the car have been rigorously assessed in order to perform consistently across all terrains in the coming season. -

Ogier/Ingrassia claim fourth WRC title in a row with Volkswagen § Crowned with a win: Ogier/Ingrassia wrap up world title after eleven rallies § Title defence sees champions join Kankkunen and Mäkinen in exclusive club § Match point number two for Volkswagen in the Manufacturers’ Championship Wolfsburg (16 October 2016). Sébastien Ogier/Julien Ingrassia (F/F) were crowned World Rally Champions for the fourth time in a row after taking victory at the Rally Spain. They guided their Volkswagen Polo R WRC to a fifth win of the season in Catalonia, finishing ahead of Dani Sordo/Marc Martí (E/E, Hyundai) und Thierry Neuville/Nicolas Gilsoul (B/B, Hyundai). Their ninth podium in eleven races triggered wild celebrations. The Frenchmen can no longer be caught at the top of the overall standings in the 2016 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). Team-mates Andreas Mikkelsen/Anders Jæger (N/N) went into the Rally Spain as their closest rivals in the title race, but the Norwegians’ hopes of winning the championship were dashed when they were forced to retire from the rally. Eighth place in the Manufacturers’ classifications for Jari-Matti Latvala/Miikka Anttila (FIN/FIN) means Volkswagen is well- placed to claim its fourth Manufacturers’ title in a row next time out at the Rally Great Britain. Kankkunen, Mäkinen and Ogier – up there with the biggest names in rallying 952 days in a row at the top of the table: Sébastien Ogier is only the third World Rally Champion to be crowned champion four years in a row in the pinnacle of rallying, and the fourth four-time world champion in the history of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). -

Volkswagens segerrad bröts i Rally Argentina Sébastien Ogier och Julien Ingrassia utökade sin ledning i FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) med en andraplats i Rally Argentina. I en dramatisk final förlorade trefaldiga världsmästarna till Hayden Paddon/John Kennard (NZ/NZ, Hyundai), som tog sin första seger i World Rally Championship. Andreas Mikkelsen/Anders Jæger (N/N), som liksom Ogier/Ingrassia kör en Polo R WRC, kom på tredje plats. Volkswagens segersvit med tolv raka segrar tog slut i Argentina efter att teamet varit obesegrade i 355 dagar. Ogier/Ingrassia och Mikkelsen/Jæger tog den 73:e och 74:e pallplatsen för Polo R WRC i bilens 43:e rally sedan tävlingsdebuten 2013. Polo R WRC vann elva av de 18 specialsträckorna i Argentina. Ett extremt rally Rally Argentina betraktas som ett av de tuffaste i WRC-kalendern – och 2016 års rally förstärkte det ryktet. Vägbanan var mycket grov med ett underlag som på vissa ställen var stenigt och på andra sandigt. Samtidigt innehöll delsträckorna både smala, vindlande sektioner och snabba, mer följsamma partier. MEDIA INFORMATION Alghero, June 14, 2015 2015 FIA World Rally Championship RALLY ITALIA SARDEGNA The MICHELIN LTX Force H4 and S4 tyres prove a match for Rally Italia Sardegna’s new stages Round six of the 2015 FIA World Rally Championship ended today in Alghero, northwest Sardinia, after almost 400 kilometres of competitive action and 1,100km of road sections. Saturday’s menu made it the longest single leg of the season with 212.3km stages and more than 15 hours of driving in the course of the day! The route was extensively modified compared with last year’s itinerary and the WRC runners faced a cocktail of narrow, tree-lined stages and a relatively hard-wearing surface including hard-to-spot half-buried rocks and sharp loose stones. This combination put the strength of the hard-compound (H4) and soft-compound (S4) version of MICHELIN LTX Force to a tough test over the event’s 23 timed tests. Additional challenges for the drivers, cars and tyres were the deep ruts that were carved out by the rain storms which swept over the Mediterranean island prior to the start, prompting the teams to adjust the ride-heights of the respective machines on occasions. Said Jacques MORELLI, manager of Michelin’s FIA World Rally Championship programme: “This year’s Rally Italia Sardegna was a tough event but our MICHELIN LTX Force H4 and S4 tyres provided further evidence of their strength and performance potential. The early part of the rally was marked by drizzle which formed a slippery top coating on the stages. -

2021 MEDIA GUIDE Arctic Rally Finland February 26 - 28, 2021 ROUND 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 Arctic Rally Finland February 26 - 28, 2021 HYUNDAI’S HELLO Given the freezing temperatures outside, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Arctic Rally Finland and for the first of what we hope will be two visits by the WRC and Hyundai Motorsport to the country in 2021. Before I underline the team’s hopes and expectations for this event, I wish to acknowledge all the hard work that’s gone into putting on this rally in such a short amount of time. The efforts of AKK Sports and all the volunteers, particularly in the context of COVID-19, has really impressed me so a big thank you to them. It’s fair to say we showed our limits on Rallye Monte-Carlo and found ourselves licking our wounds and trying to get ahead. Unfortunately, it didn’t work there and after making some changes to our approach we start the second round of the season hoping it will be much better than the first. Having wished a fond farewell to Carlos del Barrio after Monte as he prepared for the next chapter of his career, we are pleased to welcome back Craig and Paul for the start of their half-season campaign in a Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC. We know very well their ability and determination as they try to make a strong start to their season. As well as our regular World Rally Car drivers, we are giving a big chance to a really promising youngster, Oliver Solberg.
