KENT COUNTY COUNCIL Various Roads, Swale (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING)​ THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2020

To allow street cleansing works to be carried out, County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on various road in Swale.

Closures are planned from 30th November 2020, with estimated completion by 4th December 2020. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signage on site and the works will be displayed on one.network

The following roads will be closed, as detailed below.

Breach Lane, – 30th November 2020

The road will be closed between the junctions with The Street and A2 Hill, from 30th November 2020 for up to 1 day between the hours of 12:00 and 16:00.

The alternative route is via The Street, Forge Lane, Oak Lane, A2 London Road and Hartlip Hill.

The Street, Lower Halstow – 30th November 2020

The road will be closed between the junctions with Breach Lane and Hollywell Lane, from 30th November 2020 for up to 1 day between the hours of 08:00 and 12:00.

The alternative route is via Breach Lane and Hollywell Lane.

Spade Lane, – 1st December 2020

The road will be closed between the junctions with A2 London Road and Meresborough Lane, from 1st December 2020 for up to 1 day between the hours of 08:00 and 12:00.

The alternative route is via A2 London Road, South Bush Lane and Meresborough Lane.

Wardwell Lane, Lower Halstow – 1st December 2020

The road will be closed between the junctions with School Lane and Vicarage Lane, from 1st December 2020 for up to 1 day between the hours of 12:00 and 16:00.

The alternative route is via School Lane, Boxted Lane, Breach Lane and School Lane.

Highstreet Road, – 2nd December 2020

The road will be closed between the junctions with Plumpudding Lane and A299 Thanet Way from 2nd December 2020 for up to 1 day between the hours of 12:00 and 16:00.

The alternative route is via Plumpudding Lane, Highstreet Road, Thanet Way. Plumpudding Lane, Dargate – 2nd December 2020

The road will be closed between the junctions with Butler Hill and Plumpudding Lane from 2nd December 2020 for up to 1 day between the hours of 08:00 and 12:00.

The alternative route is via Dargate Road, Foxs Cross Hill, Foxs cross road, Pean Hill-Honey hill, Dunstrode Lane and vice versa.

Dargate Road, Hernhill – 3rd December 2020

The road will be closed between the junctions with Plumpudding Lane and A299 Thanet Way from 3rd December 2020 for up to 1 day between the hours of 08:00 and 12:00.

The alternative route is via Plumpudding Lane, Unnamed Road From Highstreet Road To Plumpudding Lane, Highstreet Road, A299 Thanet Way, Thanet Way Slip Way, Clapham Hill and Westbound Slip Onto A299 From Wraik Hill Roundabout.

Denstroude Lane, Dunkirk – 3rd December 2020

The road will be closed between the junctions with Dargate Road and A290 Honey Hill from 3rd December 2020 for up to 1 day between the hours of 12:00 and 16:00.

The alternative route is via A290 Honey Hill, Pean Hill, Foxs Cross Road, Foxs Cross Hill, Dargate Road, Highstreet Road, Plumpudding Lane and Dargate Road.

Crockham Lane, Hernhill – 4th December 2020

The road will be closed between the junctions with Crockham Road and Church Hill, from 4th December 2020 for up to 1 day between the hours of 08:00 and 12:00.

The alternative route is via Crockham Road, Butlers Hill and Church Hill.

Dawes Road, Dunkirk – 4th December 2020

The road will be closed between the junctions with Courtenay Road and Staplestreet Road, from 4th December 2020 for up to 1 day between the hours of 12:00 and 16:00.

The alternative route is via Courtenay Road, Road, The Street and Staplestreet Road.

Norton Lane, Norton – 4th December 2020

The road will be closed from the junction with Dawes Road for its entire length from 4th December for up to 1 day between the hours of 12:00 and 16:00.

The alternative route is via Courtney Lane, London Road and Staplestreet road.

The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while street cleansing works are undertaken by Swale Borough Council.

Access for emergency service vehicles, pedestrians and residents will be maintained at all times during the closure, when it is safe to do so.
