FOOTBALL Marvin Kinsey makes certain that future will be bright

Junior running back Marvin Kinsey Jr. found the endzone twice last week against Wyoming for the first time since he scored multiple touchdowns against University of Nevada at Las Vegas in October 2016. But Kinsey’s level of play against the Cowboys exhibits the running back’s potential that many believed he had during his 2016 freshman season. Kinsey’s explosiveness and speed as a freshman seemed to indicate that the running back would have a consistent, successful career with the Rams. But as the running back pre- pared for CSU’s 2016 Famous Ida- ho Potato Bowl matchup with the Vandals, Kinsey endured a devastating setback when he tore his ACL during practice. The injury was tough to re- spond to physically and mentally. Even when Kinsey was cleared to play in 2017, he still lacked the ideal mindset. “It takes a couple of months after you get cleared,” Kinsey said. “You have to get comfortable. I was a little hesitant I think. I think it got to me a little bit.”

SOCCER Colorado State Soccer completes most successful season to date

Colorado State University soccer wrapped up their season Oct. 26 in Laramie against the University of Wyoming with a loss. The loss marked the conclusion of the most successful season in the program’s history. This year, the Rams set a new program high in overall wins, with six, setting a program-best conference record to boot. At first glance, the numbers show how much better this team was than the teams of the past, but the reality is this team was a few goals away from making the playoffs for the first time in history. If the Rams had scored a single goal against Colorado College, San Diego State Uni- versity and the Cowgirls, they would have made the conference tournament.

Despite the temperature, it is indeed autumn, meaning new beers to pair with the changing of the weather. With so many breweries in the City of Fort Collins comes no end of a selection. Here are five beers to start your fall into new brew flavors. 1. Odell Brewery’s Cloud Catcher Milkshake IPA Even if you are not a fan of the bitter taste of IPA’s, this may still appeal to you. Unlike others, this IPA does not have the brazen taste of hops that turns away many people. In- stead, Cloud Catcher balances it’s flavors evenly between hops, creamsicle and citrus flavors. As the “milkshake” in the title implies, the beer has a thick- er texture, but it never stops being smooth and light. The beer never feels heavy, and as a warning, it might be easy you could easily drink several serv- ings of this beef and not notice. 2. NATIONAL Charlene deGuzman turns addiction into ‘Unlovable’ role

Movie are mostly made to be entertaining while some can also be educational. It’s rare when a film can save a life. Charlene deGuzman is certain that if she hadn’t started writing the script for “Unlovable,” she would be dead. The drama/comedy, based on deGuzman’s real-life experiences with sex and love addiction, is extremely satisfying for deGuzman both from how much therapeu- tic benefit she has gotten from co-writing and starring in the production and because she wants others who are dealing with the same addition to feel less alone. Despite knowing how important it was to tell her story, the filming was a surreal experience for her. “I think there was a morning when I was driving to set that I actually started crying,” deGuz- man says. “They were grateful tears though because I couldn’t believe that I had gotten to this place. It was only just a few years before that I started recovering and would never get through that. “But, here I was making a movie about it.” “Unlovable” is not an exact re- counting of what deGuzman went through in her battle with sexual addiction but is based on various people, places and things from that time period. Her character of Joy has reached a point where she knows there is no way to deal with her addiction on her own.
