Wiltshire Wildlife Conservation Volunteers PRACTICAL CONSERVATION TASKS OCTOBER JANUARY NOVEMBER FEBRUARY 2021 - 2022 Registered Charity No. 1063811 DECEMBER MARCH Wiltshire Wildlife Conservation Volunteers meet on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays, to carry out a wide range of work that helps to maintain and improve conditions for wildlife to flourish in Wiltshire. No previous practical experience is necessary. Just come along and we will provide the safety kit, tools and training required. You work at your own pace as slow or as fast as you like. Additional Important information about tasks Wiltshire Wildlife Conservation Volunteers always has safety as its first priority. In the current pandemic this will also include following all current guidelines and taking every reasonable precaution on our tasks to avoid infection. On Wiltshire Wildlife Trust sites, you must be registered with them as a volunteer to be allowed to work on their sites. If you registered before 1st April 2020 then you must re-register to meet their insurer’s requirements. To do this go to the “Volunteer with Us” page on the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust website or use this link: https://www.wiltshirewildlife.org/Pages/Category/volunteer-with-us For any other sites the WWCV must have your contact details. In both cases the contact details will be supplied to the Test and Trace system if requested. If you come to a task your consent to this will be assumed. Where possible we would ask you to ‘book a place’ on a task, that is confirm with the task leader that you intend to come. This will help the task leader to plan out how the task will be run to maintain your safety and also inform you of any last-minute changes. Can you please bring your own pen to sign a confirmation of the safety briefing etc. You can either sign the form or complete and sign a confirmation slip. There is a separate PDF document with a page of confirmation slips attached to the email, if that is how we sent this programme to you, and also downloadable from the 'Useful Information' page on our web site. We will issue you with a new pair of gloves for you to retain and use during the season. If you prefer to supply your own gloves please do so but they should be heavy duty ones. Tasks normally start at 10:30 a.m. and finish around 3:30 p.m. depending on weather and progress.
