2016 TEXAS STATE BASEBALL NOTES WWW.TXSTATEBOBCATS.COM PAGE 3 TEXAS STATE BOBCAT2016 BASEBALL GAME NOTES 2016 SEASON LEADERS NEWCOMERS TO BE CALLED UPON Texas State welcomes 15 newcomers to the squad this season with three transfers and 12 AT THE PLATE freshmen, and many of them will be counted on early this season for valuable time on the field. In Average Jonathan Ortega - .400 fact, two have already made a huge impact in Nick Perez and Jonathan Ortega. The duo combined Slugging Percentage Jonathan Ortega - .650 for 11 hits, seven runs and seven RBIs in the opening weekend. Newcomers are also taking the On Base Percentage Jonathan Ortega - .478 mound for the Bobcats with more to come. On opening weekend, Chase Hodson, Wes Engle, Jonathan Runs Sherley, Perez, Hoffman - 5 Hennigan, Joe Powell, Brayden Theriot and Calvin Bush were all newcomers who saw the mound. In Hits Jonathan Ortega - 8 the group of newcomers, the Bobcats have five strictly position players with eight pitchers and two RBI Jonathan Ortega - 7 players who might get the opportunity to pitch and hit for the Bobcats.
