FCC Compliance Statement

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with limits for a Class B digital device, Pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC rules.

These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in residential installations. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy, and if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions may caused harmful interference to radio communications. Installation Guide

Installing Hardware

1. Loose the screws on the back of the FireWire 2.5" HDD enclosure 2. Open the cover

3. Mount your 2.5" HDD to the IDE-44 pin socket on the Circuit Board firmly

4. Tighten each of 4 screws on the back of Circuit Board to secure the 2.5" HDD

5. Restore the Circuit board and the enclosure in place

6. Place the software CD that comes with FireWire 2.5" HDD in the CD-ROM drive

USB Interface driver install for Windows 98/ Windows 98 SE:

Install for USB interface driver (Windows 98 / Windows 98 SE )

1. Boot up computer to Windows 98, or Windows 98 SE. 2. Insert the software driver CD into your CD-ROM drive . 3. Wait for the pop-up menu to come out. If the pop-up menu doesn't come out automatically, please execute the autorun.exe file manually in the software driver CD from "My computer" icon then CD ROM drive icon. 4. Click "Install Software Driver" Lable on the pop-up menu. 5. Select your language and press OK.

6. Follow the instructions to complete the Setup program and restart the computer . 7. Connect to computer, make sure all the cables are well connected.

Install for USB interface driver (Windows ME / Windows 2000 )

1. Boot up computer to Windows ME / Windows 2000. 2. Connect the Mobile Disk to computer. 3. The system will recognized as a Removable Disk icon in "MY COMPUTER".

Install for USB interface for MAC OS (MAC OS 8.6, MAC OS 9.X , MAC OS X )

1. Boot up computer to . 2. Connect the Mobile Disk to computer and insert the external DC power supply 3. The system will recognized as a Removable Disk icon in "MY COMPUTER".

Install for FireWire hard Disk (Windows 98 SE / Windows / ME Windows 2000 )

1. Connect the FireWire cable (included) to any FireWire port on your PC and the other end of FireWire cable to the FireWire 2.5" HDD. 2. The FireWire 2.5" HDD will be recognized as a Local Disk icon in "MY COMPUTER"

Install for FireWire hard Disk For MAC OS 8.6, OS 9.X

1. Place the software CD that comes with FireWire 2.5" HDD in the CD-ROM drive 2. Open the MAC folder in software CD to find "Storage" installer

3. Double click on the "Storage" installer to install the drivers 4. Follow on-screen instruction to complete installation

5. Follow the instructions to complete the Setup program and restart the computer . 6. Connect the FireWire cable (included) to any FireWire port on your MAC and the other end of FireWire cable to the FireWire 2.5" HDD 7. The FireWire 2.5" HDD will be recognized as an "UNTITLED" drive icon on screen

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Important notice for Mac users !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Always drag and drop the Hard Disk "Untitled" icon into trash can before detaching the Hard Disk from the USB (or FireWire ) port on your Mac computer. The drivers are now loaded. If the hard drive in Hard Disk is unformatted, you must now format it following the instruction below: (1) Highlight the icon for Hard Disk. (2) From the Finder menu located at the top of the screen, select Special, Erase Disk. You can select either DOS or formatting. If you intend to use the device on both a PC and a Mac, select DOS formatting.

What is 1394? The 1394 digital line standard was conceived in 1986 and the specification for this link was adopted in 1995 as the IEEE 1394 standard by technologists at Apple Computer who chose the "FireWire" as its trademark and is also known as "iLink" or "iLink 1394" by Sony Corp. The IEEE 1394 multimedia connection features , high-speed performance, peer to peer communication and daisy chained which can accept up to 63 devices connected simultaneously. The idea of IEEE 1394 standard is all other devices and peripherals that connected outside of PC can simple plug into 1394 port instead of opening case and adding a circuit board.
