LAND REFORM () ACT 2003 NOTICE OF ORDERS TO EXEMPT LAND FROM ACCESS RIGHTS Under Section 11(9) of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 (the “Act”), the Council gives notice that, on 27/6/12, the Scottish Ministers, acting under Section 11(7) of the Act, confirmed THE SOUTH COUNCIL ( GOLF COURSE, BRITISH SENIOR OPEN GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP) EXEMPTING LAND FROM ACCESS RIGHTS ORDER 2012 and THE COUNCIL (TURNBERRY BEACH ACCESS TRACK, BRITISH SENIOR OPEN GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP) EXEMPTING LAND FROM ACCESS RIGHTS ORDER 2012 (the “Orders”), proposed by the Council under Section 11(1) of the Act. The effect of the Orders is to exempt the following areas of land from the access rights which would otherwise be exercisable in respect of that land by virtue of Part 1 of the Act: 1. Turnberry Golf Course (Ailsa Course), including the access road to Turnberry Lighthouse; and 2. the access track linking Turnberry Beach, from a point near the mouth of the Milton Burn, with Maidens Road, Turnberry (adjacent to number 9), together with the strip of land within which it is situated - all as outlined in red on the plans annexed to the Orders. The purpose for which the Orders are made is to enable the 2012 British Senior Open Golf Championship to be held, with the land being exempted temporarily from access rights: (1) in the case of Turnberry Golf Course, (a) in the interests of the health and safety of the public and construction workers, as well as the security of materials and supplies, during the installation and dismantling of temporary structures and facilities on the Course, before and after the Championship; (b) in the interests of the safety and security of players and the safety of the public, during the Championship itself; and (c) to permit an admission fee to be levied on spectators during the Championship; and (2) in the case of Turnberry Beach Access Track, (a) in the interests of the safety and security of players, and the safety of the public, during the Championship; and (b) to permit an admission fee to be levied on spectators during the Championship. The Orders will be effective between the following dates and times: (1) Turnberry Golf Course – 00:00hrs, Mon 2/7/12 until 23:59hrs, Mon 13/8/12 inclusive; and (2) Turnberry Beach Access Track – 00:00hrs, Wed 25/7/12 until 23:59hrs, Mon 30/7/12 inclusive. Certified copies of the Orders, and the plans referred to therein, illustrating the areas of land exempted temporarily from access rights, are deposited at the office of the Head of Planning and Enterprise, South Ayrshire Council, Fifth Floor, Burns House, Burns Statue Sq., , and may be inspected there by any person, without payment of fee, from 08:45-16:45hrs (Mon-Thu) & 08:45-16:00hrs (Fri), during the period from the date of publication of this notice until the date of expiry of the Orders. HOLMSTON ROAD, AYR (TEMPORARY PARKING RESTRICTIONS) (CEMETERY WALL STABILISATION) ORDER 2012 The Council, made this Order on 27/6/12 under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended. The Order make it unlawful for any person to cause, or permit to be caused, any vehicle (except vehicles engaged in Cemetery Wall stabilisation works) to contravene the restrictions. The order comes into operation 00:01hrs, Mon 9/7/12 until 23:59hrs, Sun 30/9/12 or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.
