Script of the Video GIOACHINO ROSSINI Gioachino Rossini (was born in Pesaro, Italy, in 1792. He died in Paris, France, in 1868, from old age, or obesity).

Gioachino Rossini was an Italian composer. He was the most popular composer of opera of his time. His father played the horn and the trumpet. His mother was an opera singer. When he was a little boy, he learned to play the piano and to sing. Because of his parents, Gioachino also learned all about opera.

His most famous opera was “The Barber of Seville”. You can listen to his music in “Bugs Bunny” cartoons. Many of Gioachino’s operas were comedies. Ah, ah! He wrote many beautiful arias – solo songs in an opera. While he was alive, no one wrote better than Gioachino Rossini.

WILLIAM TELL “OVERTURE”

The Legend of William Tell inspired Gioachino Rossini. The opera starts with an Overture.

The music begins with brass (trumpets, horns, trombones), playing a fanfare. At the end of the Introduction you can hear violins, cellos and a snare drum.

The rhythm suggests horses’ steps. “Theme A” …. A horse gallops

“Theme B” …. Many horses gallop “Transition” ….. Trotting horses “Theme A” …. Again

“Theme C” …. Listen the horse jump “Theme D” …. The horse shows off his ballet moves. “Theme C” …. Again

“Theme B” …. Again “Transition” …. Again “Theme A” …. Again The Ending… And at last the Coda …
