Game days in Blacksburg are truly spectacles, with Corps of Cadets formations and such treats as a fl yover by a B-2 stealth bomber fl own by Virginia Tech alumni.

The HokieBird is a fan favorite.

The HighTechs dance troupe adds to the pageantry of at Lane Stadium/Worsham Field where the fans are as loud and dedicated as any in the country.

The Highty- Tighties, the regimental band of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets, showcase the history and tradition of the university.

“The Walk” is a more recent tradition at Virginia Tech where thousands of fans line Spring Road to greet the Hokies as they arrive on game day.

Known as “The Spirit of Tech,” bring the stadium alive with their music and get the fans on their feet with the “Hokey Pokey” during the fi nal quarter break of each home game. Another long-time tradition at Lane Stadium, is “Skipper” being fi red following the National Anthem and each time the Hokies score.

The cheerleaders entertain the crowd with their athletic performances.

Virginia Tech continues to develop talented players Shayne who go on to succeed at the next level. Under Frank Graham Beamer, 56 players have been drafted, including one overall No. 1 pick, fi ve fi rst-rounders and 26 players in the last six drafts alone. More than 120 of his former Hokies have signed contracts with the NFL.
