Yolanda Rueda Presidenta, Fundación Cibervoluntarios @ciberyolanda 7 Prologue Making by Hacking: Citizens of change creating the future now is the motto chosen this year to convey the moment we are experiencing now. It reflects not only the work we do every day but where we want to reach and, more importantly, how we want to reach it. It is, therefore, not only a new way of being but also of thinking and doing. A new way to face the challenges, to decide how we carry out our ideas. Of course, in this way of being and doing, technology is the transversal axis that helps us to deconstruct the established to create something new in a completely disruptive way. Whateever the sope is. It does not matter if we talk about education, smartcities, science, health, participation… It is a question of how to be aware, to face existing needs, not so much to generate business but rather to generate social transformation, to turn them into opportunities, to hack what is established and build in an open, transparent, ethical, sustainable and inclusive way. Independently and above the objectives we can pursue, I highlight what unites us, the way we have to face the challenges: in a collaborative way, betting on the open culture and low cost tech, to generate trust, autonomy and independence. Always from a glocal, replicable and scalable perspective, highlighting the power of imagination and inclusive design. All with an ultimate goal, the search for creative and innovative solutions to social needs, with citizenship in the center of all of it. Making by Hacking is the concept which invites us to reflect on the impact that these makers of change are creating today to transform their reality, add value, release knowledge, protect human rights. In the end, to use the power ideas, collective knowledge and technology to deconstruct the society we are living in to create, today, the society of tomorrow. Yolanda Rueda President Cibervoluntarios Foundation @ciberyolanda 8 Making by Hacking: citizens of change creating the future now 9 Activists for democracy in Africa Aisha Dabo Journalist and internet I am an active citizen who seeks to activist contribute to the wellbeing of my community, beyond my family and friends. I am a citizen africtivistes.org @mashanubian who feels concerned by what is happening in @AFRICTIVISTES Senegal and Gambia but also in the rest of Africa. I come from migrant families on both sides of my parents. My ancestors (two maternal and paternal sides) migrated across Africa especially West Africa. I love listening to these stories from ancient times. And as a child, I have moved a lot with my family across Africa. That is why I identify myself with several countries, and I legitimately can claim seven African nationalities. For someone like me, African integration will make things easier, because denying my relation with one of these countries is like renouncing part of my identity. Some might not understand it but I feel African, and at home wherever I go on this continent, it's in my soul. I have a professional life that I love and that is not necessarily linked to my activities on the web or in charity. 1. Aisha, Can you tell us how was born Africtivistes and what is the main goal of the network? 10 African cyber activists and bloggers came together in November 2015 to create a network and launch what will since then is known as the League of African cyberactivists and bloggers for democracy - AFRICTIVISTES. We are more than 150 participants from 35 African countries and its Diaspora. We were finally able to meet after having years of e-solidarity by supporting each other’s cause(s) on social media. Several campaigns had been hold and causes had been defended. Our brainchild, which I want to put the focus on is the electronic observation of elections or "e-observation" in Africa for instance CIV2010 in Côte d'Ivoire, #Sunu2012 in Senegal, #GuineeVote in Guinea and other such campaigns across the continent. We, together, created a continental network, a single platform - building on the creation of a unit in each country around participatory democracy, to become sensitive about both traditional and new civil society players, to be instruments for the protection of fundamental freedoms for social change. One thing brings us all together, the passion we have for our countries and for the continent. We are pro-active citizens in our advocacy because we just don’t want to only highlight problems. We are first committed, engaged citizen in our respective countries. An Africtivistes identifies local problems, proposes solutions and when he/she can, contributes to the solution. The use of ICT tools plays a major role in our actions. We want to be the change and we are seeking to the best of our abilities. An Africtiviste is a citizen of an African country or its diaspora who is an activist

This is especially noticeable in the consumption of Google Chrome almost all the RAM of the computer. However, Mozilla Firefox is easy, meaning that it won't consume all of your computer's resources. It uses thirty percent less memory than Chrome does. However, speed and performance are not sacrificed by this software to be easy. Your privacy is ensured when you use Mozilla Firefox, the security features in this program include anti-tracking to make sure your location remains hidden. However, you'll find that there are fewer extensions available for Firefox compared to Chrome. There's also no live support to answer any questions you may have. If you don't organize the tab constantly you won't be able to browse the old bookmarks easily. But despite all the bad things in this application, it's speed and compatibility with most systems in making up for their flaws.
