Kanaan Adds another Top-10 Finish at the

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (July 13, 2015) – NTT DATA Racing driver finished sixth in the ABC Supply Wisconsin 250 at the Milwaukee Mile in Round 12 of the 2015 IndyCar Series season.

Kanaan and the No. 10 NTT DATA Chevrolet started the 250-lap race on the outside of the second row next to teammate . On the first lap, Kanaan made two passes and moved into second and by Lap 25 of 250 the No. 10 had fallen back to its starting position of third. NTT DATA made their first stop on Lap 56 for fuel, , and wing adjustments. After cycling through the field’s first pit stops, Kanaan was running in fifth on Lap 67 and the No. 10 came in for the second stop of the race for fuel and tires on Lap 100. 10 laps later, Kanaan was running fourth until the first of three full-course cautions came out on Lap 114 for a stalled car. The No. 10 came in under yellow to pit for fuel and tires on Lap 116 and was ninth on the restart on Lap 130.

The second yellow of the race came on Lap 131 for contact between two cars and Kanaan would stay out during the nine-lap caution. The field went green on Lap 140 and Kanaan climbed through the field back to the second position. With 100 laps remaining, Kanaan was running third until moving into the lead as the leaders cycled through their pit stops. NTT DATA Chip Ganassi Racing brought the No. 10 in for fuel and tires on Lap 189 and with 30 laps remaining Kanaan remained in the third spot. The final caution of the race came on Lap 222 and Kanaan came in for his final of the race under yellow on Lap 225 for fuel and tires. The final restart came on Lap 231 with the No. 10 in seventh. Throughout the final laps of the race, Kanaan moved up one spot to sixth where the No. 10 NTT DATA Chevrolet would take the checkered flag.

With the results, Kanaan holds the eighth position in the Verizon IndyCar Series point standings with 314 markers, 125 points behind the points leader .

Notes of Interest  The race marked the second time this season that all four CGRT cars started in the top 10 (Texas).  Kanaan’s top-10 finish in Milwaukee was his eighth top-10 finish of the season.

The No. 10 NTT DATA Chevrolet was fast and we proved that by running up near the front all day. I think we had a chance to finish higher than sixth, but it just didn’t happen for us. A sixth-place finish is okay, but I obviously would’ve been much happier with a win. It is what it is and now we’ll shift our focus to Iowa.”

Dixon Moves Up to Second in Points with Seventh-Place Finish at Milwaukee

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (July 13, 2015) - Target Chip Ganassi Racing (TCGR) driver finished seventh in the ABC Supply Wisconsin 250 at the Milwaukee Mile in Round 12 of the 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series season.

Dixon began the race in the 10th position and would pit from the ninth position on Lap 52 of the 250 lap race, cycling out to the second position. He would make his second green-flag pit stop of the day on Lap 101 for four tires and fuel, cycling out to the lead. Dixon brought the No. 9 to pit road under the first caution of the day on Lap 118 and would restart in the sixth position behind several cars that did not pit.

The caution flew again on Lap 132 just two laps after the restart. The field took the green on Lap 141 and Dixon had improved to fourth by Lap 142. He made his fourth pit stop of the race on Lap 189 for four tires and fuel, cycling out to the eighth position. By the time the caution flew on Lap 222 Dixon had worked his way into the sixth position. The final green flag run began with 19 laps to go in the race and Dixon would battle loose conditions to finish seventh.

With the results, Dixon moves up to second position in the Verizon IndyCar Series point standings with 385 markers, 54 points behind the points leader Juan Pablo Montoya.

Notes of Interest  The race marked Dixon’s 250th career Indy car start, which over his 15 seasons is 14th on the all-time list.  The race marked the second time this season that all four CGRT cars started in the top 10 (Texas).

Scott Dixon, No. 9 Target Chevrolet: “We had a tough day with the Cottonelle car. We went off sequence and led for a while and the race kind of came to us later on with the way the yellows fell. In the end we shuffled back a bit and lost some valuable points which is tough to swallow with just four races to go. We’ll keep fighting though and be ready to make up ground in Iowa next weekend.”

Kimball Finishes 12th at the Milwaukee Mile

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (July 13, 2015) – Novo Nordisk Chip Ganassi Racing (NNCGR) driver finished 12th in the ABC Supply Wisconsin 250 at the Milwaukee Mile in Round 12 of the 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series season.

Kimball and the No. 83 NovoLog FlexPen Chevrolet started the 250-lap race in the seventh position on the inside of the fourth row. During the first few laps, Kimball lost positions in traffic and was running in 13th. By Lap 37 of 250, the No. 83 had lost two more spots to 15th. NNCGR brought Kimball in for his first stop of the race on Lap 52 for fuel, tires, and a front wing adjustment and by Lap 93, the No. 83 was running in 17th. The first of three full-course cautions came on Lap 114 for a stalled car and on Lap 116 Kimball came in for his second stop of the race for fuel and tires under yellow. The field went green on Lap 130 with the No. 83 in 16th on the restart. Quickly after the field went green, the second yellow of the race came on Lap 131 for a multi-car incident. Kimball was the last car on the lead lap, which allowed NNCGR to bring the No. 83 in for a splash of fuel under yellow on Lap 135.

The field went green again on Lap 140 with Kimball in 14th on the restart and 15 laps later the No. 83 had gained another spot to 13th. Kimball broke into the top 10 by Lap 163 and as the leaders began the pit cycle Kimball moved up to second before pitting on Lap 195. The No. 83 reentered the field in 14th and with 35 laps remaining had moved into the 12th spot. The last full-course yellow came on Lap 222 for a stalled car and Kimball made his final stop of the race for tires under the nine-lap caution. The No. 83 was 11th on the restart on Lap 231 and with 10 to go had moved down a spot to 12th, where the No. 83 NovoLog FlexPen Chevrolet would cross the finish line.

With the results, Kimball holds the 11th position in the Verizon IndyCar Series point standings with 266 markers, 173 points behind the points leader Juan Pablo Montoya.

Notes of Interest  The race marked the second time this season that all four CGRT cars started in the top 10 (Texas).  Kimball’s starting position of seventh was his highest qualifying effort of the 2015 season.

Karam finishes 19th at Milwaukee

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (July 13, 2015) - Chip Ganassi Racing Teams (CGRT) rookie driver Sage Karam finished 19th in the ABC Supply Wisconsin 250 at the Milwaukee Mile in Round 12 of the 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series season.

Karam earned his career-best starting position and started the race in the third position. He fell one position to fourth by Lap 5 of the 250-lap race after reporting too much understeer in the car. Karam brought the No. 8 in for the first green flag pit stop of the day on Lap 54 for fuel as well as pressure and wing adjustment and cycled out to the eighth position. Karam made a second green flag pit stop on Lap 101 for four tires and fuel before cycling out to the 10th position.

Karam pitted during the first caution of the day on Lap 118 and would restart in the 12th position. The caution flew again on Lap 132 just two laps after the restart and Karam improved two positions to 10th. The field took the green on Lap 141 and Karam had improved to seventh by Lap 142. He had dropped to the eighth position by Lap 160. Karam would retire from the race on Lap 184 after suffering right-rear damage from contact with the wall.

With the results, Karam holds the 20th position in the Verizon IndyCar Series points standings with 137 markers, 302 points behind the points leader Juan Pablo Montoya.

Notes of Interest  Karam’s starting position of third was a career-best for the rookie.  The race marked the second time this season that all four CGRT cars started in the top 10 (Texas).

Sage Karam, No. 8 COMFORT REVOLUTION/Big Machine Records Chevrolet: “The marbles are just so bad here. I was trying to make it one more stop to get the fuel mileage the team was asking me to get. We were getting the mileage, but they said don’t lose any positions while doing it too. So I was just racing really hard there with Chaves. And I guess it was just a racing thing. I’m trying to hold my line. He’s trying to hold his. I got on the right side of the marbles and once that happened the car just wouldn’t turn and we had contact with the wall.”
