TEAM NOTES (cont.) BLISTERING BONUS POINT PACE In 20 of 22 wins this season, Myles Martin has posted bonus points with 10 tech falls, six major decisions and four pins. For his career, he is garnering bonus tallies at over a 70% clip by racking up 25 tech falls, 22 major decisions and 15 pins during his 87 collegiate wins to date.

Martin’s nine tech falls vs. D-I opponets this season is tied for second nationally while Ke-Shawn Hayes owns eight tech falls to join Martin in the NCAA Top-5.

CHASING HISTORY The Buckeye senior trio of Bo Jordan, Kyle Snyder and Nathan Tomasello have a chance to accomplish something no group has ever done in NCAA wrestling history. They could become the first teammate trifecta to all earn their fourth All-American status in the same year.

Ohio State’s roster is littered with All-Americans, totaling seven, yes, count `em, SEVEN returning All-Americans. In addition to the aforementioned three, Micah Jordan, Joey McKenna, Myles Martin and Kollin Moore have also found their way to the NCAA podium in past seasons.

Only one team in NCAA history, the 2001 Minnesota Golden Gophers, has had the entire 10-man lineup earn All-America status in the same season.

BUCKEYES TAKE DOWN TWO IN THANKSGIVING THROWDOWN Ohio State handed Kent State its first loss of the season and bested Cleveland State as well to sweep through the 2017 Thanksgiving Throwdown. The Buckeyes outscored their in-state competition 81-12, topping CSU 43-3 and KSU 38-9. The Scarlet & Gray dominated the evening inside St. John Arena, dropping only three of 20 bouts. In addition, 14 of the 17 victories were accompanied by bonus points including four appearances by the #PinChain. Ohio State also recorded eight tech falls and two major decisions.

BUCKEYES TOP ARIZONA STATE, 31-12 Ohio State won seven of 10 bouts over the visiting Sun Devils in the first dual of the season. Te’Shan Campbell, Myles Martin and Kyle Snyder each garnered bonus points.

SEVEN BUCKEYES CROWNED CHAMPIONS AT PRINCETON OPEN Ohio State opened the 2017-18 season by sending 10 grapplers to the podium at the Princeton Open, including champions in seven of the 10 weight classes. Buckeye title-winners were Luke Pletcher (133 lbs), Ke-Shawn Hayes (149 lbs), Micah Jordan (157 lbs), Te’Shan Campbell (165 lbs), Bo Jordan (174 lbs), Myles Martin (184 lbs) and Chase Singletary (HWT; competing `unattached’). In addition, Fritz Schierl’s runner-up journey advanced all the way to the 165-pound finals before clashing with OSU teammate Te’Shan Campbell. Ethan Smith (unattached) was a third-place finisher at 184 pounds while Brakan Mead (125 lbs) rounded out the Buckeye podium- goers with a fourth-place showing.
