BREAKING GLASS PICTURES RELEASING ‘5 STAR DAY’ ON HOME VIDEO THIS FEBRUARY STARRING CAM GIGANDET and JENA MALONE

Philadelphia, PA (January 1, 2012) — Breaking Glass Pictures is releasing director Danny Buday’s debut feature film 5 STAR DAY, starring Cam Gigandet and Jena Malone. The film is slated for a February 7 Blu-Ray (SRP $29.99) and DVD (SRP $24.99) release. Variety hailed its “promising premise, convincing chemistry between its attractive leads and fine thesping.” Rex Reed of the New York Observer gave it 3 out of 4 stars, calling it “an adorable indie comedy.”

In 5 STAR DAY, Jake Gibson's (Cam Gigandet) horoscope forecasts a flawless day the morning of his birthday. Little does he realize, his entire world is about to be turned upside down as everything that could go wrong -- does.

Now, determined to disprove the theory of Astrology, Jake embarks on a journey to find the three people born the same time and place as himself: Sarah, a single mom haunted by her past (Jena Malone), Yvette, an overworked nurse (Brooklyn Sudano) and Wesley, an undiscovered jazz singer (Max Hartman). The journey quickly uproots Jake from the small college town of Berkeley, California to downtown Chicago where he sets out to find and interview Sarah, Yvette and Wesley to see if their birthdays proved to be as disappointing as his own.

Jake's pursuit in finding his three Astrological matches (or Zodiac twins) will not only test his convictions, but validate how life's unexpected twists of fate can deliver much more than the anticipated. The unforeseen takes Jake from the Windy City, to the boardwalk of New Jersey's Atlantic City, to the bustling streets of New York. What Jake learns along the way is an important lesson about life, love, fate and destiny that will unexpectedly change his life forever. Critic Brian Orndorf said, “Gigandet easily delivers the best performance of his career.”

During its theatrical run in November, 5 STAR DAY played the Laemmle theaters in West Hollywood and Pasadena, the Quad Cinema in New York, the Texas Theater in Dallas, and various select markets. 5 STAR DAY was simultaneously released nationwide on various video-on-demand platforms, including Comcast OnDemand, iTunes, and Facebook.
