Robin Smith Testimonial Year 2003 Testimonial London Dinner at The Four Seasons Hotel Park Lane, London Thursday 29th May 2003

Hampshire Cricket has granted Robin Smith a testimonial in 2003 in recognition of his services to the Club.

There can be no more deserving recipient and he is worthy of our support. His feats for both County and Country have been borne out of dedication and application and he is held in high esteem:

Ian Botham - “Robin was a tremendous test match batsman. He was brave as a lion and hit the ball with brutal power. He had all the weapons, but his absolute killer was the square cut off front or back foot. It has taken both mental strength and a love of cricket for Judge to keep his pecker up after so much disappointment. It has also taken massive amounts of courage and that is the nature of the man I am proud to call a friend”.

Shane Warne - “He is one of the nicest guys I have ever met in cricket circles and doesn’t have a single enemy on the circuit. Because he was their best batsman along with Gooch, during that period he was always asked to fill the problem position and being the sort of guy who will go out of his way to help anybody, he always did what was best for the team”.

We are therefore delighted to host a testimonial dinner in his honour on 29th May at The Four Seasons Hotel, Park Lane, London.

This will be a fun packed evening with some very special entertainment. Master of Ceremonies will be Mark Nicholas and to make us laugh, it is Ross Noble no less. Time Out, London, says of Ross, "The supreme master of spontaneous stand up and the most exciting comic in the country".

In the past 10 years, Ross has become known as a truly exciting and genuinely original performer and has received huge Ross Noble critical acclaim. He has just completed a sell-out 45 date tour of the UK and wowed them at last year's Edinburgh
