2005-06 Michigan State Golf 2004-05 Season In Review Season Spotlight The Spartans appeared in a total of 12 events, including three post-season outings - the Big Ten Championship, NCAA Central Regionals and the NCAA Championships. All told, the Green and White posted eight top- 10 finishes, including its first tournament title of the year at the final event of the season, the Lady Buck- eye Invitational. MSU also finished in the top 10 at the Lady Northern Invitational (fourth - Sept. 11- 12); Mary Fossum Invitational (second - Sept. 18- 19), Lady Paladin Invitational (seventh - Oct. 22- 24), Central District Classic (eighth - Feb. 21-22) and the Liz Murphey Invitational (tied for eighth - March 25-27). MSU took home the tournament title at the Lady Buckeye Invitational with a three-round 886 As for post-season events, MSU placed third at (293-295-298). The organization is staffed entirely by volunteers who donate their time, talent and money. Azalea Charities raises funds for its community charities and Aid for Wounded Warriors through membership fees, private donations and sponsorship of Team Azalea Charities in the Marine Corps Marathon and the Azalea Classic Pro-Am Invitational Golf Classic, the organization’s keystone event held each May at the Piedmont Club. Beyond minimal expenses, all the funds raised go to their charitable core causes. Community Charities Since its inception in 1999, Azalea Charities has supported local charitable causes geographically from Arlington to Fredericksburg, VA. Our goal is to provide funding that allows local groups to perform their service missions and spend time with their families. Our local support falls into six major areas: Special Olympics Boys and Girls Clubs Homeless Shelters - House of Mercy, ACTS, SERVE, and The Carpenter’s Shelter. Cancer and Disease Support - leukemia/lymphoma, juvenile diabetes and others Education - funds to local teachers, school supplies, literacy programs Special needs Aid for Wounded Warriors The purpose of Aid for Wounded Warriors is to lift the spirits and enhance the morale of military men and women who have been injured in the line of duty.
