GAME NOTES OCTOBER 28, 2015 GAME #13 - VANCOUVER GIANTS (4-6-1-1) VS. LETHBRIDGE HURRICANES (9-2-0-0)
PRE-GAME REPORT Giants General Manager Scott Bonner has been busy over the past two days. The G-Men were part of a blockbuster trade on Tuesday as the club acquired 19-year-old forward Chase Lang and 19-year-old defenseman Ben Thomas from the Calgary Hitmen. Both Lang and Thomas have been drafted by NHL teams – Lang by the Minnesota Wild and Thomas by the Tampa Bay Lightning. Earlier today, the Giants acquired overage forward Trevor Cox from the Medicine Hat Tigers. Cox finished second in league scoring with 109 points last season.
The Hurricanes are coming off a 4-3 shootout victory on Vancouver Island against the Victoria Royals on Tuesday night. The Lethbridge club has won seven games in a row and sits in second in the Central Division. 19-year-old forward Tyler Wong, who had the shootout winner in Victoria last night, sits in second in the league in goals with 13 while 18-year-old winger Brayden Burke is 10th in league scoring with 20 points. Wednesday’s contest will be the third game of a six game road trip for the ‘Canes.
