UAP CHAPTER PARTICIPATES IN THE REGIONAL DISTRICT A3 EXHIBIT FOR NAW 2016

QUEZON MEMORIAL SHRINE

UAP Quezon City Chapter joins the National Architecture Week 2016 (NAW2016 ) with the theme : KOLABORASYON : Our Past defines our future towards professional excellence. Our chapter joined the District A3 Photo exhibit featuring Iconic Structures in Quezon City. This is part of UAP District A3's Nostalgia: a Tribute to Iconic Structures in Quezon City this National Architecture Week.

Opening of exhibit was graced by NEVP Ar Nina Bailon-Arce and NT Ar Pamela Amador last December 6, 2016 at UAPHQ Lobby with a simple rites of ribbon cutting attended by DD for Region A3 Ar Cecille C. Gamana and all chapter presidents of District A3 , QC Capitol Ar Randel Leona, QC Silangan Ar Cesar Aris, QC Tandang Sora Ar Joana Lisa Dungca , QC Central Ar Joselito Francisco and QC South Triangle Ar Arnold San Sebastian. Quezon City Chapter Officers attended as well the opening of the exhibit followed by a simple merienda at Dulcinea.- By Ar Maria Carla G. Epino, fuap

UAP QC SILANGAN Chapter pays tribute to the iconic WELCOME ROTONDA, designed by Architect Luciano V. Aquino, that was built in 1948 to welcome visitors to Quezon City, as the newly declared capital of the Philippines until 1976.

UAP TANDANG SORA Chapter pays tribute to the TANDANG SORA SHRINE, the park and structures designed by Architect Arneil Bague and monument sculpted by Abdulmari Imao, Jr., that was built in 2009 to commemorate Quezon City’s heroine, Melchora Aquino, a.k.a. Tandang Sora, the Mother of Philippine Revolution.

UAP QC Capitol Chapter pays tribute to the iconic PHILIPPINE HEART CENTER, designed by Architect Jorge Y. Ramos and was established through Presidential Decree No. 673 issued by president Ferdinand E. Marcos in 1975. Its original name was the Philippine Heart Center for Asia and was changed to its current form in 1975. It was inaugurated on February 14, 1975, the Philippine Heart Center was dedicated to the Filipino people as an institution committed to caring for patients with heart and related ailments.

UAP QC Central Chapter pays tribute to the iconic ARANETA COLISEUM, designed by Rufino Antonio, that was built as an arena for boxing, basketball, cockfighting, local and international concerts and more.

UAP QC South Triangle Chapter pays tribute to the 11th Jamboree Memorial.

Designed by artist Florante B. Caedo and Arch Arthuro C. Soriano, cuap. The 11th World Scout Jamboree Memorial Rotonda, also known as the Boy Scout Circle, is a roundabout in Quezon City, Metro , the Philippines. Located at the intersection between Timog and Tomas Morato Avenues, it serves as the boundary between Barangays South Triangle, Laging Handa and Sacred Heart.

A monument stands in the middle of the roundabout which commemorates the members of the ill-fated Philippine contingent to the 11th World Scout Jamboree that was among the casualties of the United Arab Airlines Flight 869 crash of 1963. The monument consists of a circular pedestal with bronze statues positioned around the structure, in the likenesses of the 24 members of the Philippine delegation (22 Boy Scouts, 2 veteran Scouters, and 2 chaperons).

UAP District A3 pays tribute to the Manila Philippines Temple.

Designed by Arch. Felipe Mendoza, First UAP Likha Awardee 1982 and PRC Outstanding Architect 1982. The Manila Philippines Temple was the first Mormon Temple in the Philippines and the second in Asia. Located at 13 Temple Drive, Greenmeadows Subdivision, Quezon City. The street where Philippines Manila Temple is located was renamed to Temple Drive during the temple's construction.

UAP QUEZON CITY CHAPTER joins the NATIONAL ARCHITECTURE WEEK 2016 with a PHOTO EXHIBIT

UAP DISTRICT DIRECTOR FOR A3 JOINED BY CHAPTER OFFICERS

UAP Quezon City Chapter joins the National Architecture Week 2016 (NAW2016 ) with the theme : KOLABORASYON : Our Past defines our future towards professional excellence. This our year our chapter decided to hold an exhibit of SELFIE PHOTOS with ICONIC STRUCTURES, the idea came as UAPQC Chapter Members loves to travel both local and international destinations we call “ LAKBAY LOKAL” and “LAKBAY INTERNATIONAL”. Around 85 photos are on exhibit at UAPHQ Lobby that will run from December 6-10, 2016. Displayed as well are Hand Painted T-shirts of Iconic Structures in the heart of Quezon City such as Quezon Memorial Shrine, Araneta Center, Central Bank of the Philippines, QC Hall, Heart Center of the Philippines, ABS-CBN Station, Welcome Rotonda, Sto. Domingo Church, Centris, UAPHQ, Landmark, UP Oblation and more….. A fruit of Labor from our chapter officers and members who contributed their time in painting the T-shirts to commemorate significant and iconic structures in Quezon City. These are our simple ways in defining our past towards professional excellence….
