Substitute Teacher Application Process Applicants are required to provide a complete substitute teacher application package which includes: a) NESD Substitute Teacher application form – indicating the school(s) where you would like to work; b) an updated cover letter and resume; c) a copy of your valid Saskatchewan teaching certificate; d) registered with the Saskatchewan Professional Teachers Regulatory Board – www.sptrb.ca; e) a copy your internship report (beginning teachers); f) three current references. Preferred references would include experience working with children or in an educational institution; and g) a criminal record check including vulnerable sector search. (This can take a couple of weeks so start early. We need to see the original and it must not be older than six months). SASKATCHEWAN HIGH SCHOOLS ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION JANUARY 2014 NEWSLETTER SHSAA EXECUTIVE Executive Director’s Report 2013-2014 The SHSAA office staff wants to wish everyone a Happy New Year as you return to school after PRESIDENT: a very well deserved Christmas break. We want to thank everyone as well for the effort and Roger Morgan passion delivered to the student-athletes of Saskatchewan over the busy four months that started this school year off. Your efforts and enthusiasm did not go unnoticed and is appreciated by both students and the Executive Council alike. EXECUTIVE COUNCIL: The first four months of school sport was quite successful. The provincial championships were Val Gordon, Eastend well attended and those involved in the championships in the first five activities, represented their school, community and family well and for the most part, displayed to our fans the Kevin Kitchen, Kamsack respect and integrity that is synonymous with school sport. Cory Schmaltz, Carrot River This will serve as a reminder to all schools of the new Transfer Policy that was approved at the 2012 AGM and redefined at the 2013 AGM. For those students thinking about transferring to Syd Laskowski, Osler a different school come the fall of 2014, the Transfer Policy will now be fully in effect for all Barclay Patterson, Saskatoon students. This policy states that once students have enrolled in their Grade 10 school of choice, they are eligible for SHSAA sanctioned inter-school sport at that school and only that Dale Reed, Regina school. Should a Grade 10 or 11 student transfer to a different school from which they established their school sport eligibility (entering Grade 11 or 12 in the fall of 2014), they are Kendra Syrota, Meadow Lake only eligible for the activities they did not participate in at their original 'home school'. -
