Re: 18/04026/FUL
Demolition of the existing dwelling and erection of a three storey development for nine apartments with associated access, nine off-street parking spaces, cycle storage and refuse store
22 Briton Crescent South Croydon CR2 0JF
I am writing to lodge my objection to the above planning application.UNDER My reasons are as follows:
1. The proposal would be a significant overdevelopment of this corner site due to its size, density, bulk and massing – extending some 5.0m deeper into the plot and is 1.2 m wider than the existing house
1. This three storey 9 unit development would be out of character with the neighbouring two storey single family homes in terms of character, use and density
2. The proposed density is well above the London Plan’s recommendation for such a low PTAL rated location which would detrimentally impact on quality
3. Detrimental impact on the amenities of adjoining occupiers due to the size and height of the proposal; loss of privacy and overlooking from the balconies
4. Concreting over of garden space and the loss of trees vegetation and natural habitat
5. Noise and disturbance arising from the increased comings and goings at this property and in particular from the new car parking areas
6. Lack of consideration of the impact such a proposal will have on local amenities and already stressed infrastructure such as schools, parking and local healthcare provision RELEASED7. Inadequate parking provision 8. The Design, Access and Transport Statement is flawed eg page 8 references ‘Kenley and Old Coulsdon’ and page 15, para 2.1.9 references ‘Coulsdon, Purley and Whyteliffe centre’, neither of which appear relevant I would be grateful if you could ensure that my representations are fully taken into account when this application is being considered and if the recommendation is to approve it, I would request that it be referred to the appropriate planning committee for decision.
Kind regards
Lynne
