So it’s with more than a tinge of sadness that we say goodbye to the McDonald family, as they hand over the lease of The Manly Hotel to its new custodians, Endeavour Group. A chapter in Manly’s history is about to close as Sandy, Jenny, and Doug McDonald hand over the lease to The Manly Hotel’s new licensees after 51 years. This is more than just a bricks and mortar pub; it’s an iconic institution where milestone memories have been made, careers forged and friendships endured. “Working at The Manly, where everybody knows Sandy, Jenny and Doug, is like being a part of an even bigger family than the McDonald clan,” said Janet Moore, niece to Jenny, Sandy and Doug McDonald. “A strong, community-minded spirit is in everything we do and it has been a privilege to get to know the locals who feel so at home at The Manly.” Janet recalls many happy memories of the extended family celebrations that have taken place at the pub over the last 51 years. “The first big one would have been Doug’s 21st back in 1970, and 49 years later it was time to celebrate Doug’s 70th. How time flies!” Endeavour will take the reins on October 1, which marks the start of the group’s new 50-year lease.

The competitive situation, spot load, caliber of air talent and even a change in morning shows are among them. Most recently, PPM ratings have led a number of programmers to increase the amount of music heard between 6-10am. For purposes of this week’s study, we looked at a variety of market situations to see how many songs were played in morning drive on a Wednesday for the last 12 months (excluding December 2009). As always, all airplay information comes from our friends at Mediabase 24/7. The show's stars, Matt Lee and Verity Hunt-Ballard, both won acting prizes. The Walt Disney production also took the coveted best musical award. Geoffrey Rush and Cate Blanchett each won a prize and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Love Never Dies won three. The awards took place at the Sydney Opera House on Monday night. 'Weird and unexpected' Hunt-Ballard was named best female for playing the famous nanny with magical powers. Lee, who was named best male, for playing Bert in the Disney show said it was "weird and unexpected" to beat theatre legend Anthony Warlow. Speaking to Australian website News.com at the ceremony he said: "I performed at the first Helpmann Awards 10 years ago as the third chorus boy on the left. The production, based on the 1964 film, also won best choreography, sound design, direction and musical direction. Poppins' Philip Quast also won best male musical supporting actor, while the only award for Hairspray went to Esther Hannaford for best female supporting actor.

However, what should have been a survey in light vein has been taken seriously by the Maltese, so much so that the Maltese flag has polled the highest ever number of votes ever received by a flag on this page, even exceeding that of Costa Rica. A short time ago the Maltese flag even managed to win the latest competition, against the Nepalese flag, with 54% of the votes going to Malta against 46% for Nepal. MALTA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT concert to mark airport reopening As the sun goes down on the past few quiet months, we’re turning up the volume with Sounds Like Malta to celebrate Malta Airport’s re-opening ON Wednesday We can’t wait to welcome you back to Malta, so we’re kicking off the celebrations right now. Malta International Airport, Sound Salon, G7 events, Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, Visit Malta, LEX together with Malta International Airport ambassadors Joe Roscoe and Nicola Said - Soprano. A number of planes sit idle in Luqa, dying to get back into the air. Since March,the place has been a NOISELESS cemetery. Malta International Airport will come back to life on Wednesday 1 July after the unprecedented circumstances in which we all found ourselves during the last few weeks, which also meant that the airport was forced to close its doors.The music will feature a number of videos that are a testament to the beauty of the Maltese archipelago.
