This year will be the 17th Rotaplast Medical Mission and hopefully we can reach the 1500 patients by next year. With regards to the fund raising, Rtn. Courtesy visit to the Mayor of Cebu City Last Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 5PM, we had visited the Mayor of Cebu City, Hon. In line with this, we will be sending soon the statement of account for all members and this will include the 2nd Semester Dues. As a gentle reminder to all members that the Club Resolution on SAR (Semi-Annual Report) by PP Eking Jereza and seconded by Pres. Jun Falcon is still enforceable as this was adopted and implemented by the present Board. On the membership side, Rtn. Kit Daleon will be re-instated soon and he is looking forward to be with us in service to humanity. And lastly, John F. Kennedy said “To state the facts frankly is not to despair the future nor indict the past. The prudent heir takes careful inventory of his legacies and gives a faithful accounting to those whom he owes an obligation of trust.” That’s all for now, enjoy the rest of the evening. Thank you! PORTSIDE CLUB BULLETIN President’s Message – September 2019 Today in 1595, Fr. Antonio Sedeño, one of the outstanding figures of the early Jesuit missions in the Philippines, died at the age of 60 in Cebu. He is buried in the newly-constructed Jesuit chapel in the city. A pleasant evening to our RCCPC champions! Welcome everyone for tonight’s meeting. We have to savor this meeting’s undertakings as we have upcoming important events and projects. BOD Special Meeting. Last August 23, 2019, the Officers and Board met at Castle Peak Hotel and one of the agenda discussed, among others, is the financial status concerning our upcoming 2019 Rotaplast Cebu Mission. Things discussed from this meeting will be shared during our GMM “Other Matters” portion. Courtesy Visit to the City Mayor. Last August 28, 2019, the Officers and Board went to the Cebu City Hall and paid a courtesy call to the newly elected Cebu City Mayor Edgar Labella. From the said visit, we verbally shared to the new mayor our Club’s projects – new and continuing, most especially our flagship project – 2019 Rotaplast Cebu Mission. Mayor Labella willingly expressed his support for the Appreciation Night and requested a formal letter on it particularly stating the total number of persons for the activity. Venue for this activity is still to be determined and confirmed by the Office of the Cebu City Mayor. Grant Management Coordination Meeting. Last August 30, 2019, there was a Grant Management Coordination Meeting requested by Area 1B Assistant Governor, Stephen Chian, which attended by the undersigned. Important agenda discussed, among others, is the hosting of Area 1B for this coming Grant Management Seminar. It will be this Saturay, 7th day of September 2019. As requested by AG Stephen, he wanted RCCPC President and Secretary to support him for said hosting and he will accordingly relay this week RCCPC’s role for the event. 2019 Rotaplast Cebu Mission. To reiterate my previous announcement, solicitation letters were already sent out to all RCCPC members and each member is expected to pledge Php10K (the hospital expense cost of at least one patient for this year). The suggestion is likewise endorsed by PP Edward Go, being him the yearly top-notcher for solicitations.I am sure we now have more than eighty (80) pre-listed patients from Abounding In Love Foundation but we still expect more walk-in patients. Last year, we had 116 screened PORTSIDE CLUB BULLETIN patients but only around 95 was successfully operated (an average target of 30 patients per day). As 2019 Rotaplast Cebu Misson schedule is really fast approaching, we will discuss this more in tonight’s meeting. Meeting Make-Up.
