INTRODUCTION OF THE PROJECT / BACKGROUND INFORMATION (i) Identification of project and project proponent. In case of mining project, a copy of mining lease / letter of intent should be given. M/s. SIVA PARVATHI STONE CRUSHER has filed quarry lease application for grant of quarry lease for Road Metal over an extent of – 0.931 Ha in Sy No. 401/B (Part), Village: Kondakavur, Mandal: Narasaraopet District: Guntur District for a period of 13 years . The Assistant Director of Mines and Geology, Dachepalli has submitted proposals recommending for grant of quarry lease for Road Metal over an area of 0.931 Ha for a period of 13 years in favour of M/s. SIVA PARVATHI STONE CRUSHER subject to satisfaction of all the terms and conditions laid down under APMMC Rules ,1966. The Deputy Director of Mines and Geology, Guntur vide Notice no. 6326/Q2/4050-4 dated 17.12.4050 after careful examination of the proposals of the Asst. Director of Mines and Geology, Dachepalli in principle to grant a quarry lease for extraction of road metal over an extent of 0.931 Ha in Sy No. 401/B (Part), Village: Kondakavur, Mandal: Narasaraopet District: Guntur District for a period of 13 years in favour of M/s. SIVA PARVATHI STONE CRUSHER. (ii) Brief Description of the Nature of the Project. Project is Road Metal Quarry located in an area of 0.931 Ha. Road Metal of 4050 m3/Annum is produced by means of conventional method of opencast mining through drilling, blasting, loading and shifting through dumpers/tippers before crushed. (iii) Need for the Project and its importance to the country. The newly formed Andhra Pradesh state Infrastructure Mission aims for the creation of a well-planned and seamlessly integrated infrastructure within the State. Road Metal is used to lay beds for roads and foundations; used on pathways and ornamental gardens. Smaller stones as well as lower-quality stones can also be used in cement and blacktop applications as it adds strength. (iv) Employment Generation (Direct and Indirect) Due to Project. The direct employment potential of the project is 20 persons. 3. PROJECT DESCRIPTION (i) Type of Project (including interlinked and interdependent project, if any) The proposal is for production of 4050 m3/Annum of Road Metal from ML of 0.931 Ha adopting conventional method of opencast mining through drilling, blasting, loading and transportation through dumpers/tippers before crushed. (ii) Location (map showing general location, specific location and project boundary & project site specific layout) with coordinates. The Mine Lease area is a part of the Survey of India Toposheet No. 65/D/4. The site falls between the following latitudes and longitudes. S.No Latitude Longitude 1 16° 8'4.73"N 80° 2'20.63"E 2 16°8'1.86"N 80°2'25.20"E 3 16°8'1.04"N 80°2'24.45"E 4 16°8'3.21"N 80°2'19.64"E The nearest railway station is Munumaka RS at 8.7 km in NW direction. from the Quarry Lease Area. Key map showing the location of various features around the Quarry Lease Area is shown in Fig – 2. Guntur is major town at a distance of 46.0 km in ENE direction. National Highway (NH-5) connecting Guntur – Ongole at a distance of about 14.1 km in SE direction. State Highway (SH- 45) connecting from Narasaraopet – Chilakaluripeta is at distance of 8.4 km in ENE direction. The nearest railway station is Munumaka RS at 8.7 km in NW direction. There are no wild life sanctuaries, national parks, elephant/tiger reserves within 10km radius of the study area. Uppalapadu Bird Sanctuary –54.2 km – ENE Nearest Settlements from the Quarry Lease Area Kondakavuru – 1.4 km - W Pamidimarri – 2.1 km – WSW Kattubadiwaripalem – 2.3– E Nearest Reserved Forests from the Quarry Lease Area Ellamanda RF – 0.9 km – N Uppumagulur RF – 6.0 km - S Salient features of Quarry Lease Area are given in Table – 1 and Fig - 3 shows the study area of 10 km radius around the Quarry LeaseArea (iii) Details of alternate sites considered and the basis of selecting the proposed site, particularly the environmental considerations gone into should be highlighted. MINES No alternate sites are considered as the project is site specific. (iv) Size or Magnitude of operation. 4050 m3/Annum of Road Metal production. Project Description with Process details (a schematic diagram/ Flow chart showing the project layout, components of the project etc. should be given. The mining will be carriedout in an area of 0.931Ha. Road metal in the quarry area is excavated by conventional method of opencast mining which will be semi-mechanized and on single shift basis. Because of presence of hard and competent rock mass, drilling and blasting will be performed for loosening of the rock mass. The material in the quarry area is excavated by conventional method of opencast mining through drilling. Blasting, loading and shifting through dumpers/tippers before crushed. Mine is operated for 25 days in a month and 250 days in a year. (v) Raw Material/ Consumables Required along with estimated quantity, likely source, marketing area of final product, mode of transport of raw material and finished product. Kondakavur area is enriched with stone which is hard in nature. Since the hill track is boulder in nature, jointed & fractured, about 90% of the total excavation will be subjected to drilling & blasting for loosening fragmentation for ease in production and remaining is excavated directly by the machine and 100 kg of explosive will be consumed. Powder factor is found to be 6 t/kg of explosive (vi) Resource optimization/ recycling and reuse envisaged in project, if any, should be briefly outlined. None (vii) Availability of water, it’s source, Energy/power requirement and source should be given. Water requirement is 10m3/day (max) and the same is purchased from local sources No Mining activity is involved during night times. (viii) Quantity of wastes to be generated (liquid and solid) and scheme for their management / disposal. No Waste generation from the mine is expected. 4. SITE ANALYSIS i) Connectivity National Highway (NH-5) connecting Guntur – Ongole at a distance of about 14.1 km in SE direction. State Highway (SH- 45) connecting from Narasaraopet – Chilakaluripet is at distance of 8.4 km in ENE direction. The nearest railway station is Munumaka RS at 8.7 km in NW direction. There are no wild life sanctuaries, national parks, elephant/tiger reserves within 10km radius of the study area. ii) Land Form, Land use and Land Ownership Total mining lease area is Government land (0.931 Ha). The total quarry lease area of 0.931 Ha comprises of Govt. waste land. There will be a permanent change of land use. The quarrying activity will leave excavated area part of which will be reclaimed by plantation/water reservoir based on the mining depth at conceptual stage The mining is carried out in an area of 0.931 Ha. No Waste generation from the mine is expected. iii) Topography along with maps The topography of the QL area varies from 81.0 to 92.0m RL with surface relief of 11.0 m. The general slope of the terrain is towards South West. The reference bench mark at the culvert near to Quarry Lease area is 443mtrs in NNW and is at 66.3 m RL This was again transferred and tied up with the boundary Pillar – 2 (TBM) which is at 91.4 m RL iv) Existing infrastructure National Highway (NH-5) connecting Guntur – Ongole at a distance of about 14.1 km in SE direction. State Highway (SH- 45) connecting from Narasaraopet – Chilakaluripet is at distance of 8.4 km in ENE direction. The nearest railway station is Munumaka RS at 8.7 km in NW direction. There are no wild life sanctuaries, national parks, elephant/tiger reserves within 10km radius of the study area. v) Soil Classification Mine is devoid of Top soil. However, any top soil generated will be used for afforestation vi) Climatic data from Secondary Sources The temperature during summer touches 47.2°C with winter temperature of minimum of 9.4oC. The area receives an annual rainfall of 1031.6 mm. 5. PLANNING BRIEF: Planning Concept (type of industries, facilities, transportation, etc.,) town and country Planning / Development authority classification: i) Population Projection: Since there will not be any major influx of people from outside in this region because of the project, there will hardly be any increase of population.

    Issapalem Gram Panchayat Narsaraopet Mandal Guntur District CASE2016/NO. 12 STUDY A Woman Sarpanch made her Panchayat Open Defecation Free IMAGES The spirit of the constitution will be fulfilled when every Panchayat has a Sarpanch like Chinthirala Ramadevi. The Sarpanch, with her initiative and leadership; with determined efforts and support of other village leaders, the community and Govt. Departments achieved open defecation free (ODF) status under Swachh Bharat Mission during December, 2015. Issapalem Gram Panchayat (GP) in Narasaraopet Mandal of Guntur district has 1042 households and 3975 population, of which SC and ST population are 670 and 260 respectively. As many as 778 households have access to Individual Household Latrines (IHHLs) by the time Ramadevi was elected as Sarpanch and construction of latrines for the remaining 264 households and 100 per cent usage in the village had been her immediate priorities. The strategy was to mobilise community for construction and usage of IHHLs – i.e., construction and usage by those who don’t have and ensuring usage by those who have IHHLs. A survey conducted with the help of Panchayat Secretary, Ward members, Field assistants, ASHA and Anganwadi workers revealed that 264 households needs latrines. Further, village level meetings were conducted to mobilise these households to construct latrines. Immediately after the meetings, the same was appraised to the Mandal level officials seeking their inputs and support towards construction of toilets to the households. INCLUSIVE APPROACH in COMMUniTY that a fine would be imposed on those who practice open defecation. MOBILISATION A village level monitoring committee was formed of which Awareness among the households regarding need for the Sarpanch herself was a member.
