SUBJECT: Final Resolution of Emergency Preparedness (EP) Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) No. 2012-003
By email dated May 30, 2012 (ADAMS Accession No. ML12156A263), the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) submitted comments to www.Regulations.gov in response to a Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff generated EPFAQ No. 2012-003 (ADAMS Accession No. ML12108A151) published in the Federal Register for a 30-day comment period in accordance with the directions given in AEmergency Preparedness Program Frequently Asked Question Process” (ADAMS Accession No. 112650253). The EPFAQ process is intended to clarify the staff=s interpretation of existing regulatory guidance issued or endorsed by the NRC, and will not be used to create new regulatory positions or guidance.
My staff has performed a review of the comments submitted by the NEI. The comments submitted by NEI do not suggest any changes to EPFAQ No. 2012-003. This memo is intended to document the final resolution of EPFAQ No. 2012-003 and to update the EPFAQs on the NRC web-page accordingly.
