A student-led organization Collision of Race and Sports in the South. that features original choreography in every performance. The style evolves with the evolution of hip-hop as a genre. The Company performs at various campus events as well as hosts our own annual showcase in the spring. ANDREW MARANISS (A&S ’92) is the author of the New York Times bestseller, Strong Inside: Perry Wallace and the PRESENTING THE FOLLOWING PIECE: Collision of Race and Sports in the South. Andrew studied "Solace" history at Vanderbilt as a recipient of the Fred Russell – Grantland Rice sports writing scholarship, earning the PERFORMERS: school’s Alexander Award for excellence in journalism. Jaila Johnson (A&S ’17) Maraniss, the son of Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and best-selling Sydney Moore (A&S ’19) author David Maraniss and trailblazing environmentalist Linda Maraniss, Garsy Presumey-LeBlanc (A&S ’18) was born in Madison, Wisconsin. He grew up in Washington, D.C. and Austin, Texas and now lives in Brentwood, Tennessee with his wife Alison, and their two young children.
