We are currently looking for business-minded Franchise Owners who are looking to get involved in a unique, underserved, vast market to join our Crawlspace Medic family. We are one of the only businesses residing in the Home-Improvement and Home-Repair Industries that provides services specifically for crawlspaces and basements.. The idea behind Crawlspace Medic started in 2011, Owners.when we realized the need for a focused service based approach to crawlspace and basement problems. With a background in custom home building and remodeling, we took our knowledge and passion for impacting peoples lives, and decided to create a business model that approached the preventitive care and remedial needs often required in crawl spaces and basements. It became immediately clear after our first few months in business that the market was completely under-represented, and that no regional or national company was meeting the demand for the services we were providing. So in 2013, my friend Jon Dando and I partnered to launch a growth strategy for Crawlspace Medic with a vision to become the Nations most recognized and trusted crawl space repair brand. In 2016 we extended this vision to the world of franchising, offering our approach to prospective Franchisees. Through streamlined focus, unmatched dedication to customer service, and by treating our team members like family, we have been able to successfully grow Crawlspace Medic into multiple locations. With the success of each new territory, it is clear that most major markets across the country are in need of our service. Accordingly, we are seeking qualified Franchise Owners to join our family. As part of the Crawlspace Medic team, you will provide customized solutions to clients for professional crawlspace inspection and repair services. By doing so, you will improve indoor air quality, overall energy consumption, and secure the structural integrity of your clients’ homes and buildings – all while backed by our business model and extensive support system. It is an honor for my team and I to share the benefits of franchising with Crawlspace Medic. My team looks forward to discussing any questions you have about your entrepreneurial journey. I wish you the best of luck as you progress through our education process, and hope to see you for a personal meeting in beautiful South Carolina very soon. Sincerely, Evan Wilson Co-Founder and CEO - Crawlspace Medic What is Crawlspace Medic? At Crawlspace Medic we believe a healthy home and a healthy business start from the ground up. While working in the termite industry, building custom properties, and renovating old and new homes, we discovered that there was no one tending specifically to crawlspaces. There are millions of homes with crawlspaces across the country, and hundreds of thousands more are built each year. It didn’t take long for us to quickly discover an underserved and highly in-demand niche in the home-improvement industry. We focus specifically on two lines of service. One, moisture remediation including drainage and dehumidifaction solution, and two structural repairs such as replacing rotten floor framing, and building additional floor support systems. Due to our knowledge and experience with these specific repairs, we have been made the go-to crawlspace experts in our markets! Without hurting customers wallets, our employees have crawled miles and miles providing custom, necessary repairs for living in, purchasing, or selling a home. We launched our national expansion program in 2016 and since then we have attracted a lot of attention from individuals who are interested in our concept. At Crawlspace Medic, we offer unparalleled support and processes that make running your business as simple and smooth as possible. All of our Franchise Owners enjoy utilizing our customized CRM which assists them from the initial call to the final invoice. Not only that, but we service a unique market with virtually zero competition which our Franchise Owners know very well through the outstanding profits they generate. On average, Owners are making almost $700,000 a year in profit with strong net margins!* *Note: Refer to Franchise Disclosure Agreement The Crawlspace Medic story In 2011, while working underneath various homes in Columbia, South Carolina, our team had an epiphany. Since we were already using our expertise and knowledge to save the city’s oldest dwellings from ruin, why wouldn’t we use it to prevent damage in the first place? This idea was further inspired by the continuous feedback we were receiving from our customers who wish that there had been a service that could have helped prevent their problems in the first place. So, it was from this, combined with a shared belief that the space under homes deserves more attention than an annual inspection for bugs, that the idea for Crawlspace Medic was born. When we started toying with the idea of creating Crawlspace Medic, some of our contemporaries in the real estate industry mentioned that they were in need of licensed contractors for specific repairs during their closings. These repairs typically consisted of high moisture, water, or termites under the home that needed to be fixed before the property sale could be completed. Initially, we decided to offer this service as an add on to a custom home building business, The Wilson Company. Once we realized how under served this market was, however, we decided to morph into our own company! In 2013, we officially launched Crawlspace Medic and actively started to build the business and our brand. The following year, we introduced the concept in the Char- lotte, North Carolina market and celebrated immediate success. Not only could we cater to homeowners looking to protect their largest investment, but we were also educating and helping real estate agents, home buyers, and home sellers complete their transactions seamlessly. After seeing the success of the business, we decided to start offering franchise opportunities and awarded our first location in December of 2017. We recently awarded our second territory in June 2018 and are set to open two more locations by summer 2019. We have spent the last two years perfecting our franchise support systems and infrastructure and, with the success of our first two Franchise Partners, we are now ready to grant more franchise territories in select markets. What makes Crawlspace Medic different? Crawlspace Medic is unique in that we have very limited competition in an underserved portion of the vast home-improvement industry. Our business is in high demand as we provide a service to not only individuals who are looking to buy or sell their home, to individuals who are working in other industries, like real estate agents, and even competitors in the home-improvement industry who don’t offer the same services that we do.Here’s why customers love using Crawlspace Medic: Peace of Mind At Crawlspace Medic, we pride ourselves on giving peace of mind to homeowners, real estate agents, home buyers, and home sellers. We have found that people experience a lot of fear when we discuss moisture, mold, or damage to a crawlspace, so we focus our efforts on fixing the problem and performing preventative maintenance to ensure the area is dry and healthy all year round. Customized Approach At Crawlspace Medic we do not sell a “one size fits all” solution like many other home-service companies do. We take our time in evaluating an area and we develop a custom solution for every crawlspace. This approach is precisely what gives our customers peace of mind. What makes Crawlspace Medic Different? Expert Employees Customer Focused To ensure all employees are highly skilled, our corporate team is Franchise Owners and their employees are all trained on available to review resumes and speak with the individuals providing exceptional customer service to the point that our before the Franchise Owner hire them. This process protects our customers actually enjoy interacting with us. Our Net customers as they know every employee has been vetted and Promoter Score, a scale from -100 to 100 that rates customer truly is an expert and it protects our Franchise Owners as they loyalty, is at an unprecedented 75! To put this into perspective, know our brand image is being upheld. Both of these are an NPS of 70 and above is considered to be “World-Class” in extremely important since they are working on the foundation of customer service so we are extremely proud of this rating and customers homes and are part of the foundation of our business! what it means for our Franchise Owners. Competitive Pricing Just because we are customized does not make us more expensive. In most markets, our services typically cost less than our competitors who install “one size fits all” systems. Offering customized solutions based on the customers specific house, as opposed to standardized systems, enables us to keep our prices very competitive. Why own a Crawlspace Medic? Perhaps you’re looking for more freedom and flexibility in your career.

  • Assessing and Repairing YOUR GARAGE STRUCTURE
for do-self or contracted repairs Assessing and Repairing YOUR GARAGE STRUCTURE Sooner or later, most homeowners must decide whether it’s better to repair or replace an old garage. We suggest that you start by taking a good look at its overall structure. In communities with older homes, many garages were built for smaller cars. They were certainly not built to the quality standards of the houses – in fact, they may not have been designed to be permanent structures at all. As a result, some areas that frequently fail are: • the place the wall framing meets the foundation (if there even is a foundation!) • the rigidity of the side walls • the structural framework of the roof (which is often undersized or improperly supported) • the framework around the doors and windows • a rear wall that has either rotted out because there was never a gutter installed, or has had an extension for a longer car cut into it, destroying what little structural integrity it may have had originally. The framing system of a garage (see illustrations at right and on last page) starts at the bottom with a sill board, the piece of wood that sits on the foundation and upon which the wall is built.) This board is attached to the wall studs. At the top of the studs is a top plate, usually two 2 x 4’s nailed together. Roof rafters, the boards that support the wood and shingles on the roof, usually rest on top of the top plate. If any part of your framing system is damaged from water leaks or insects, it will weaken the whole structure.

HOME R EPAIR S BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA MERIT BADGE SERIES HOME REPAIRS “Enhancing our youths’ competitive edge through merit badges” Note to the Counselor Nothing encourages pride in one’s surroundings more than being able to improve them through one’s own initiative and resources. That is why the Home Repairs merit badge can be so important to the development of a young person. Once a Scout learns basic home repair skills and applies them to his own environment, he will have a lifetime resource: his ability to learn new skills. Home repair, however, can be intimidat- ing at first, especially if the Scout lacks a role model for such activities. If possible, provide one-on-one or group activities that will get the Scout off to a good start. Encourage each Scout to acquire a good set of basic tools, and help Scouts learn to keep their tools in one place and in good repair. That way, they will “be prepared” to handle repairs as needed. There is no time limit for completing the requirements. Major tasks, such as waterproofing a basement, may be completed in tandem with another Boy Scout working on the requirement, and/or with the assistance of an adult. The majority of the work, however, should be performed by the Scouts earning the badge. This book provides a good overview of home-repair projects, but it is by no means a complete reference. For some requirements, space does not permit going into construction details or listing all possible repair variations. Therefore, any new construction or installation or completion of a similar project (for example, any toilet repair or adjustment) qualifies as achieving the requirement so long as the Boy Scout under- stands and demonstrates the basic concepts involved.
