COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS, iHEARTMEDIA, INC. ANOUNCE MULTI-YEAR BROADCAST PARTNERSHIP WITH WXZX 105.7 FM SERVING AS THE ALTERNATE RADIO HOME OF THE NHL CLUB 105.7 FM will carry its first game this Thursday when the Blue Jackets host the Dallas Stars

COLUMBUS, – The Columbus Blue Jackets have joined with iHeartMedia, Inc on a multi-year partnership that makes WXZX 105.7 FM the new alternate home for radio broadcasts of the club’s games not carried by flagship station 97.1 The Fan, the Blue Jackets and iHeartMedia announced today. Columbus Alternative 105.7 will carry its first game on Thursday when the Blue Jackets host the defending Western Conference champion Dallas Stars at 7 p.m. ET.

“Columbus Alternative 105.7 will complement our flagship station 97.1 The Fan to provide Blue Jackets fans comprehensive radio coverage in central Ohio through game broadcasts, as well as pre- and post-game shows,” said club Vice President of Business Intelligence & Broadcasting Marc Gregory. “We’re looking forward to working with IHeartMedia Columbus to develop unique activations in the future for hockey and music fans alike.

“We truly appreciate our past partnership with WWCD and everything they have done to bring listeners Blue Jackets hockey over the years. Unfortunately, we were unable to come to an agreement on future game broadcasts.”

The new partnership includes Columbus Alternative 105.7 broadcasting all games, including pre- and post-game coverage, not carried by 97.1 The Fan. Blue Jackets game broadcasts on Columbus Alternative 105.7 will be promoted across other local iHeartMedia radio stations and social media accounts and the parties will partner on a variety of promotional activations including regional contesting across iHeartMedia stations in Ohio and guest appearances by club personalities on stations.

The Blue Jackets return to action Thursday when they host the Dallas Stars. Game time from Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast live on FOX Sports Ohio and the FOX Sports Go app with coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m. with the “Blue Jackets Live” pre-game show. The contest will also be aired live nationally on NHL Network. It will also be broadcast on the Eldorado Gaming Scioto Downs Blue Jackets Radio Network, including locally on Columbus Alternative 105.7 FM.
