finlaysons.com.au ADDING TO THE BLEND Diversifying your export markets China has been a phenomenal market for the Australian wine sector. Sadly, it is not a market at all at the moment. Perhaps China will come back into the fold and be very important to us again. But, even if it does, we cannot be too reliant upon it. A sustainable wine business needs to diversify its risk amongst a manageable number of key markets – enough to spread the risk of one collapsing, but not so many as to make it impractical to give them all due attention. Each year, Finlaysons and their friends, Australian Grape & Wine and Wine Australia, visit ten leading viticultural regions of Australia to impart their legal and commercial wine industry knowledge to winemakers and grape growers. This year they will endeavour to give some deep insights into the opportunities in various markets for wine and provide some 'tips and traps' in getting your wine into those markets. As well as an update on the China situation, there will be practical, 'on the ground' advice about how to approach export to each of Australia’s key foreign markets and information as to where the opportunities lie. Clearly this is extremely important information for wineries of all sizes, as well as grape growers. Attend Finlaysons Wine Roadshow 29 with a view to 'adding to the blend' of markets you service.
