Cantine Belisario is the biggest producer of Verdicchio in the Matelica DOC, a 43.95 smaller zone than nearby Castelli di Jesi (which also produces Verdicchio from the same ). The climate here is more continental than in Castelli di Jesi and the combination of warm days and cool nights gives a longer growing season, and lovely aromatic qualities to the wines. The was aged in a combination of 80% stainless steel and 20% toasted barrels for 12 months before bottling. The wine then remained in bottle for one year prior to release. Pale gold in colour, this wine opens with complex aromas of vanilla, honey and fresh floral notes. Full and rounded on the palate with stone fruit flavours and light touches of spiced honey and vanilla on the long finish.
