The bands this year include: Loose Change, Michael Manning, If you are ready to QUIT, D.C. Malone and the Jones, and the Crazed we are ready to help! Weasels. We are also excited to introduce August 12, 2017 some new musical friends to the mix: Al- 1-800-QUIT-NOW 1-800-784-8669 exa Wiley & the Wilderness, and The Ven- tilators. I think you’re gonna thoroughly enjoy them. Alexa brings her own unique sound and song writing style that is truly special, and the Ventilators blend a Blues and rock style that will keep you moving. We also have a special treat, appearing for the first, and probably last time, on a stage anywhere, “Funk Rougeou”. This is a tribute band put together for our dear departed musical friend, Ben Rougeou. Many of you will remember him as the bass player for Ma Fondue. Ben was a huge sup- porter of what we are doing out here. We miss his warm smile and wit but we will re- member him in music. Funk Rougeou will include many of the Ma Fondue regulars including “Geebs”–the fiery lead singer and “Mikey”–the keyboard player, among a cast of musicians focused on funkin it up NOLA (New Orleans) style, in memory of our beloved friend. As with every year, this event wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of our many sponsors and, of course, the community who comes out every year. The festival is on Saturday, August 12th and goes from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Flow- erree Memorial Park. Admission this year is $10.00 or what you want to “donate” to the kids. If you’re a little short, then be our guests. So, invite your friends out for the weekend, dust off the comfy lawn chairs and prepare to eat, drink, and be merry. We are also excited about presenting our first CVMF scholarship to this year’s recipient to kick off “Funk Rougeou”. I hope we see you all there to enjoy the mu- sic, support the kids, and share the day with your neighbors and friends.
