In an effort to raise the level of care, as well as to provide recognition to those programs and professionals offering quality care, NADD has introduced three interrelated programs:

• THE NADD ACCREDITATION PROGRAM (developed in association with the National Association of State Directors of Developmental Disabilities Services (NASDDDS)): NADD Accreditation is a “seal of approval” that reflects that an organization or program demonstrates the provision of state of the art services for individuals with dual diagnosis.

• THE NADD COMPETENCY-BASED CLINICAL CERTIFICATION PROGRAM This certification displays that a clinician has met the standards established by NADD for providing services to individuals with IDD/MI and demonstrates mastery in various competency areas.

• THE NADD COMPETENCY-BASED DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION PROGRAM The competence of the Direct Support Professional (DSP) can make a big difference in the quality of life for people served. This Certification validates that the DSP displays a high quality of service to individuals with IDD/MI.
