Hand in hand Musa Aman says teamwork is key to progress for the people

The federal civil service is arguably the biggest in . With about 100,000 civil servants in 142 departments and agencies, it is four times the size of the Sabah civil service. And as the state moves in tandem with Prime Minister ’s massive economic transformation programme, Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman says teamwork between federal and state civil servants is the key to transforming into a high income country in eight years.

Giving a pep talk to federal civil servants at the Sabah Federal Government Administrative Complex in yesterday, Musa said he is happy with the cooperation between federal and state civil servants.

Khazali Ahmad Their teamwork is vital for Musa to realize his goal of making Sabah the richest state in three years as development projects are rolled out under the massive 230-billion ringgit ($73 billion) 10th five-year Malaysia plan. By 2020, are expected to join the rich world as high income earners enjoying an average income of 55,000 ringgit.

This year Sabah is spending a record 4 billion ringgit on socio-economic development as 45 billion ringgit of oil and gas projects are rolled out. The focus will be on the Sabah Oil and Gas Terminal (SOGT) in Kimanis, the ammonia and urea project in Sipitang and the gas-fired plants in Kimanis and Lahad Datu.

Thus Musa expects much more at work from civil servants to ensure that these projects are carried out smoothly.

He has the assurance of federal secretary Khazali Ali who says that he will ensure that his staff will continue to cooperate with the state’s in achieving government goals. – Insight Sabah
