18 THE HORN PHOTOS BY MOLLY CASSON PHOTOGRAPHY

Virginia Run’s very own Emma Liskey competed on American Ninja Warrior Jr. Tune in February 22nd on Universal Kids. Her episode is tentatively scheduled to air EMMA LISKEY ST on March 21 ! FOR THOSE OF US THAT DON’T KNOW, WHAT’S JR AMERICAN AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR JR? ANWJr is a tv show where kids race head- to-head through an obstacle course. Kids NINJA WARRIOR version of American Ninja Warrior. HOW DID YOU GET INVOLVED WITH THIS SPORT AND WHAT DID YOU DO TO PREPARE? I first tried ninja obstacles at Muscle Beach in Santa Monica during spring break a few years ago. Then we found a local ninja gym where I could train. To prepare, I trained at my ninja gym and I also traveled to other gyms to experience new obstacles. I also worked out in my basement where I have a lot of ninja equipment. WHY DO YOU LIKE IT? I like that there’s always new challenges to try and it makes me strong.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THE EXPERIENCE (AT LEAST WHAT YOU CAN SHARE BEFORE THE AIRING)? I got to meet ninja kids from around the country and well known adult ninjas from the real show.

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN BECOMING A NINJA? It takes a lot of strength to do ninja so start doing pull ups!
