Excited to Have an Opportunity to Receive a Matching Gift Again From

Dear UA Alumni Cheerleader and/or Mascot,

It is that time of year again and Homecoming 2018 is just around the corner! The UA Cheerleaders & Mascots would like to extend an invitation to you and your family to attend this year’s Homecoming festivities. To help celebrate, we would love to have as many alumni cheerleaders and mascots back as possible for homecoming weekend October 26- 27, 2018. This year, the Arizona Football team will take on the Oregon Ducks, Saturday, October 27, 2018. Time is still TBD.

We are extremely excited to have the current team meet the alumni. Our Spirit Cats come from all over the states of Illinois, California, Hawaii, Connecticut, Wisconsin and of course Arizona! The team had an amazing time this year at UCA summer camp in Santa Barbara. We made huge improvements at camp gaining more knowledge and learning new skills. It was a perfect way to create the foundation to build our season on and to learn more about one another. We again have a fantastic group of young men and women who are proud to wear the block “A” on their chest. The cheerleaders and mascots continue to focus on promoting Wildcat spirit through crowd interactive material.

We continue to work to keep our alumni contact information current and we have really worked hard on improving our social media efforts to help keep alumni and fans updated on what we do. We hope you can join us this year, but if you do not plan on attending this year’s homecoming festivities please respond to us so we know you have received the information and our records are correct and up to date in the alumni database.

If you are not on our private Facebook alumni page, please search for University of Arizona Cheerleading & Mascot Alumni and tell all your former teammates to become a member of the group. In addition, we have multiple social media accounts that our social media board member runs. Those accounts can be found on the next page, if you have those apps, please “like” or “follow” them!

As you all remember, the team enjoys every aspect of representing the University of Arizona, a large portion of the program’s budget must be raised by its membership in order to continue to improve the experiences of the Arizona Cheerleaders and Mascots. Although we do receive support from the Athletics Department, we are not considered an official NCAA intercollegiate sport, and therefore we need to fundraise our operating budget. We are grateful and excited to have an opportunity to receive a matching gift again from The Marshall Foundation that will go towards scholarships for the team! The Marshall Foundation will award up to $10,000.00 this year in matching donations. As an alumnus of the program we hope that you may be interested in making a tax-deductible donation. Should you desire to make a contribution we are enclosing a form where you can designate where you would like your gift to go and all funds raised will be applied to the matching gift. We have until December 31st, 2018 to raise funds for the matching gift! Any level of contribution would be greatly appreciated.

THE MARSHALL FOUNDATION PEP RALLIES – BEAR DOWN FRIDAY! Time: 6:00 PM (time subject to shift slightly) Location: The Main Gate Square on University Blvd. (between Park & Euclid) Join us for live music, games, contests, and a Pep Rally with the Pride of Arizona Marching Band!

HOMECOMING BONFIRE PRESENTED BY THE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION Time: 7:30 PM (time subject to shift slightly) Location: West Side of Old Main, Campus Join us for this celebration featuring fireworks and a pep rally with President Robbins, as well as the crowning of the Homecoming King & Queen!

HOMECOMING PARADE Time: TBD Location: UA Mall ALUMNI MASCOTS – please RSVP on the registration form if you are interested in participating in the parade this year! It would be great to have all former Mascots in the Parade to pay special tribute to all of you. ALUMNI CHEERLEADERS – We have had interest from alumni cheerleaders in recent years wanting to participate, so we are extending an opportunity for alumni cheerleaders to participate in the parade.

CHEER AND MASCOT PRACTICE Time: Time TBD, (1 hour prior to Wild Cat Walk) Location: TBD - Due to the unannounced game time, the location and time of practice are still to be determined. Come meet your 2018-2019 Cheerleaders and Mascots! We will message out this information as soon as it is available. T-Shirts and game tickets will also be distributed at this time.

WILDCAT WALK Time: 2 hours 15 minutes prior to game time Join the current squad in walking the team towards the stadium! Must be in the 2018 UA Cheer & Mascot Homecoming t-shirt Location: Wildcat Walk will start at the corner of University Blvd and Cherry Ave. The team, coaches, marching band, cheerleaders and mascots will head south on foot towards Arizona Stadium.

WILDCAT CLUB AND A-CLUB TAILGATE Time: TBD- opens 2 hours 30 min prior to kick off Location: Eddie Lynch Pavilion, North end of Mckale Center Tickets are $15 per person and includes 3 drink tickets and food. Due to high volume there will be no sales at the door.

GAME TICKETS For those who would like to purchase tickets to the football game, please indicate so on the form attached. We have arranged for an Alumni Cheerleaders & Mascots block of tickets, which are located in Section 24. Ticket cost is $39.00. Game tickets must be picked up at either the Cheerleading practice Saturday morning or in the Jim Click Hall of Champions. NOTE: The Hall of Champions will open 5 hours prior to game time and close 1 hour before kick-off.

Everyone must purchase a game ticket even if cheering on the field. Pac-12 sideline regulations may limit us to rotating people in and out every quarter depending on how many sign-up to be on the field.

T-SHIRT PICK UP For those of you who wish to purchase an Alumni Cheerleaders and Mascots t-shirt, please indicate so on the form attached. T-shirts will be available for pick up at the pre-game practice on Saturday or in the Jim Click Hall of Champions. Note: The Hall of Champions will be open 5 hours prior to game time and will close 1 hour before kick-off. NOTE: If shirts are not picked up 1 hour in advance of the game you will not be able to cheer on the field.

HOMECOMING GAME – ARIZONA VS. OREGON Time: TBD (MST/PDT)

The alumni cheerleaders & mascots can perform on the field during the game! You need to report to the northeast end zone (by the current cheerleaders) 20 minutes prior to kick-off to check-in with head coach, Jaime Bernier.

In order to cheer/perform as an alumni cheerleader or mascot, you must have either graduated from the UA, completed 4 years of eligibility in the cheerleader or mascots program, or are no longer a current UA student. (You need to meet 1 of these criteria).

Performance dress code: Please wear navy athletic shorts or pants. You must wear your alumni t-shirt, to be able to cheer on the field (Alumni mascots must also wear these shirts when not in-suit).

T-shirts will be distributed at the practice Saturday pre-game as well as distributed in the Jim Click Hall of Champions located on the north side of McKale facing the UA mall. The Hall of Champions opens 5 hours prior to game time and closes 1 hour prior to game time.

Cheerleaders, in order to cheer at the game, you must follow all current AACCA, Pac-12 Conference, and University of Arizona Stunt Safety Rules. Basket tosses and two and a half high pyramids are prohibited.

While no stunting will be allowed with current cheerleaders during the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarters, we would like to continue to allow the alumni cheerleaders to chant and partner stunt with the current cheerleaders in the 4th quarter. This may change depending on the number of alumni participants.

Mascots, we will determine how long each of you can be in suit based on the number who sign up. Please note, you will not know how much time is allotted to each former mascot until the day of the game.

Under NO circumstances will those under the influence of alcohol be allowed to cheer/perform on the field!

On the next page, you will find the registration form for the above listed festivities. Please complete the enclosed form, whether or not you are planning to attend, and return it to our office by Friday, October 19, 2018.
