Footnotes CLASSIC EMPIRE prompted the pace under rating and to the outside of SYNDERGAARD, drew on near even terms leaving the three eighths pole, moved to a slim lead a quarter mile out, kicked clear after being put to a drive in upper stretch, kept on under repeated left handed rousing the final sixteenth and dug in gamely to fend off NOT THIS TIME. NOT THIS TIME broke inward and bumped with PRACTICAL JOKE, corrected and accelerated towards the leaders into the first turn, rated between rivals past the five eighths, came under pressure chasing to the inside of a rival past the five sixteenths, angled out to be about four wide in upper stretch, straightened away, ranged up with a grinding run past the sixteenth pole but was kept at bay. PRACTICAL JOKE was jostled between foes at the break, regrouped and moved up then angled out to be about five wide near the seven eighths pole, dropped in a path or two advancing to the far turn, dropped in to saved ground past the three eighths, came back out in upper stretch to be a presence past the three sixteenth, failed to kick on with the top pair and faded. LOOKIN AT LEE lagged off the early pace, gathered some momentum mid way on the final turn, came two wide for the drive, shifted out in mid stretch and kept on with some interest. SYNDERGAARD took over inside rivals heading to the first turn, was pestered from his outside by the winner, dueled with that one from the far turn to the quarter pole then gave way. THREE RULES , three wide chasing the leaders, failed to kick on under heavy pressure past the five sixteenths and retreated. GORMLEY bobbled at the break, recovered to move up four wide, continued four wide stalking the pace, remained a factor to the quarter pole then dropped back. KLIMT was hustled up inside early on, came off the rail around the final turn, shifted out to be five wide in upper stretch but lacked a response. TERM OF ART , brushed at the break, steadied when in close heading towards the first turn, lagged off the pace and failed to menace. THEORY stalked the pace while saving ground, failed to keep pace under a ride past the five sixteenths and faltered. STAR EMPIRE (GB) , unruly in the post parade, bore out at the break bumping PRACTICAL JOKE, steadied in close nearing the first turn, faltered leaving the far turn and was eased through the drive.
