Assistant Coach Lorie Horner Horner is in her fourth season with the Bellarmine softball program. She is a graduate from the University of Ken- tucky, where she earned two letters on the Wildcat softball team. She played at Eastern Kentucky University her for two seasons, prior to transferring to UK. In her two seasons on the UK softball team, Horner played her way into the record book. She is second in career fielding percentage (.983), fifth in putouts (490), sixth in strike- outs (113), and eighth in ERA (4.75). Horner was also a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll both years. Horner played at Central High School in Louisville and was inducted into the Kentucky Prep Softball Hall of Fame in 1999.

Knights Field Bellarmine’s baseball and softball teams each have a home at Knights Field. Both diamonds are natural grass and are located on campus. The baseball field was built in 1954 and has been renovated several times. It now features an elevated press box overlooking home plate as well as covered dugouts, bullpens, a batting cage and a large electronic scoreboard in right field. The field dimensions are 360 feet down the SuRF Center left field line (where the fence is now 20-feet hight), 385 feet to dead center, and 340 feet down the right-field line.
