There is lots of acvity going on in IPSC Canada this year and next year, so probably the best thing for me to do is go in chronological order starng right aer my last arcle in Diligena last year. In December of 2019, the IPSC Canada Naonal Execuve Council held its first winter in‐person NEC meeng in over a decade. Secon Coordinators and NTO/NROI met in Toronto for a weekend to discuss everything IPSC Canada related. The board felt that the summer NEC meeng based around the naonals is too difficult to get a lot of work done so this venue felt beer. We discussed naonal policies; A standard for DQs – when people have to retake Black badges, etc. We discussed the black badge and made plans for a major re‐write; including rifles, shotgun and handgun this me. We decided to build a preer website. The board agreed that our exisng website contains all the informaon needed but modern websites have a lot more flash to them and ours needed updang. (You should see that new website before the end of this year) There were other topics covered and it was a fruiul meeng. Later in December, we completed re‐running the elecon for RD and I was re‐elected to the posion. Although I’ve already thanked them, I do want to thank the secons again for their support. This year, two level 4 matches were held; the European Championships and the Austral‐Asian Championships. Even though Canada is not part of these groups, I was able to obtain slots for both matches from both generous match directors and anyone that ex‐ pressed an interest from Canada was able to get slots to aend.

    The Royal New Brunswick Rifle Association RNBRA Newsletter Promoting marksmanship through competition since 1866 September-October 2018 Volume 1, Issue 5 RNBRA Members and RNBRA Shooting Clubs, I attended a Roundtable Discussion hosted by Public Safety Canada and the Hon Bill Blair, Minister of Border Security and Organized Crime Reduction (Minister Blair was not present for our session), in Moncton on October 29, 2018. The topic was Reducing Violent Crime: A dialogue on handguns and assault weapons. The emphasis was consideration of “a ban on handguns and assault weapons in Canada, while not impeding the lawful use of firearms by Canadians”. There were 20 representatives of shooting organizations, police departments, and firearm vendors and training centres from Atlantic Canada. This included the PEI Rifle Assoc, NS Rifle Assoc, RNBRA, IPSC Canada, IPSC NS, Shooting Federation of NS, Fundy Shooting Sports, and Springfield Sports Club, among others. The Minister met with groups advocating for stricter firearms legislation in the morning and our group was hosted in the afternoon by a deputy minister. They are also looking for written submissions on this issue from Canadians and there is a online survey to be completed here. I think it is imperative that those of us who enjoy the shooting sports make our voices heard by expressing our concerns and ideas. Please complete the online survey and contact your MP either as individuals or on behalf of our sporting organizations. The opportunity for input closes on November 10, 2018.
