Khumalo back to winning ways

Themba Khumalo has enjoyed a successful start into his career, finish- ing 2nd in the 2012 and 2013 Northern Regions Moto 3 Champion- ship, on board the NSF250. With continued support from Honda and FUCHS Silkolene, he was contracted to Adrenalin Powersport to compete in the 2014 National Super GP on the Honda CBR600. After a difficult start into the season with technical problems and a crash, the bike was completely rebuilt and Khumalo embarked on an intensive therapy routine, determined to get his season back on track. The team entered the Extreme Festival event, where Khumalo finished 9th in both races in the 25-strong field, impressing the huge crowd. Following his successful return to racing, the team is looking forward to the remainder of the Super GP season with optimism. The next event promises to be a big one. Khumalo will be hoping to consolidate his FRANCE performances this season and to look towards a top-ten placing! Podium after podium

Valentin Teillet of the Kawasaki Bud Racing team is col- lecting victories. In early August, at the famous and in- dispensable Air Contest at St Vincent de Tyrosse, he did the double in the two rounds of motocross, to the delight of the attending Fabrice Galluret, regional FUCHS Silko- lene representative and his clients. On 14 August, during the La Tremblade Supercross, Teillet claimed 3rd place on the podium. After this, at the Kenny Festival on 7 September, the young rider proved unbeatable, picking up another two wins ahead of three of the discipline’s finest French competitors, Michaël Pichon, Fabien Izoird and Cédric Soubeyras. Following his success in this event in front of a bumper crowd of 13,000 cheering fans, this enthusiastic rider is ready to stake his claim on all the remaining podiums of the season.

In the second race, the BMW rider led from start to finish despite ‘Shakey’ putting him under intense pressure throughout. Again there was little in it, with less than half a second separating the two riders after yet another hard fought race, leaving Byrne with a decent consolation of his 18th podium out of the 19 races run so far. 37-year-old Byrne heads to the next race in Assen on 562 points, 26 ahead of on 536, who in turn is one ahead of Kiyonari (535).
