EVENTS/ACTIVITIES AT BVN

Ramandeep of class XII presented a paper and moderated a conference on nursing in Tokyo with special reference to the topic of economic challenges in the field of nursing. He presented a 25 minute presentation along with his research paper.

June, 19 Internship The psychology students attended a one week internship in Fortis Psychology Students Programme hospital. The students got an opportunity to learn about abnormal Of Class XI and XII psychology. They had a meaningful interaction with the clinical psychologist who helped them understand the process of intervention. They also got an opportunity to see the different tests used to diagnose disorders 8th August, 19 Eco Club Plantation Eco Club planted 20 saplings in the school premises. Plants will be taken Students of the Eco care by members of Eco Club and BVN Greens. Club 5th to 9th August, An Inter house Poetry Recitation activity was organized where children Students of class VI 19 Activity enjoyed the beauty of expression, thoughts, feelings, rhyme and rhythm. and VII Children recited poems of eminent freedom fighters and recited them with great zeal and enthusiasm reminding everyone of the sacrifices made by our great freedom fighters.

6th August, 19 Atal Tinkering Lab Students learnt about RGB LED and seven segments displays with or Students of class VII without switches and also discussed about their applications. They and IX performed the activities on breadboard and worked on their Robo war and Robo race project for their competition.

6th August, 19 Monsoon Festival Students watched movies on Monsoon Festival. The students actively Students of Class VI participated and shared their experience. Some of the students shared mythological stories of these festivals. They spoke about Raksha Bandhan, Nag Panchami, Eid, Onam, Ganesh Chaturthi, Teej etc.

8th to 13th August, Independence Day Students listened to some speeches delivered by great Indian leaders like Students of class VIII 19 Activity Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekananda, Subhash Chandra Bose and JawaharLal Nehru. Students also expressed their opinions about the speeches and spoke about their favorite extract from the speeches

14th August, 19 Independence Day Classes were decorated with creative ideas and efforts put by children, Students of class VI Activity they did fabulous job from putting tri colour ribbons, posters on to VIII independence day at the door, walls, windows and boards decorated with National Symbols, flags, slogans and so on. 14th August, 19 Independence Day 73rdIndependence Day with celebrated with great enthusiasm and Students of classes VI Celebration respect. The ceremony started in the morning with various activities like to XII and teachers patriotic songs and dance performances by the students. The Principal shared the expressions and aspirations for the country. The assembly concluded with everybody in unison sang the National Anthem and expressed the joy of freedom. 14th August, 19 Radio Show The students prepared radio shows in groups on the theme patriotism. Students of class VIII One team of each section competed with the other sections and the best team was given the opportunity to present the show on the school PA system. It was an innovative way of giving students an opportunity to sharpen their thinking and speaking skills. 17th August, 19 Parents' Initiative Dr. Aparna Gupta, Neurologist conducted an interactive session with all Group D staff our Group D staff members. She gave a talk and showed videos on members healthy life styles, importance of good health 20th August, 19 Inter House Maths Students participated in an inter house maths activity where they Students of class VI Activity integrated geometry with art. Students had an option to participate in one of the below mentioned three activities: 1. Mandala art 2. Warli art 3. Classifying angles from day to day life.

20th August, 19 Science Week Science activities were demonstrated by children as a part of science Students of class VI- week in the classroom. VIII 20th August, 19 Inter House Activity Greece being the Country of the week, students were asked to bring Students of class VIII interesting facts on Greece. Each House sent two representatives. The facts were judged on the basis of being unique, interesting and informative. 19th to 23rd August, Maths Week Students integrated geometry with art, practicing Olympiad questions Students of class VI 19 and learning new tricks, interacting with seniors and learning through their experience. It concluded with an exhibition where the charts created by students were displayed on the boards. 20th to 23rd August, Social Science Week Social Science Week was conducted where an Inter House Activity was Students of class VIII 19 held on the first day and workshops were conducted by class XII students. An exhibition was put up on the topic-‘India's Freedom Struggle’. Students composed poems, prepared posters and wrote slogans which were displayed in the foyer. 19th to 23rd August, French Fiesta- French The week long Fiesta included a plethora of activities like Inter house, Students of class IX 19 Week Inter-school French competitions, decoration of boards, French workshop and X conducted by Class X students and Folder making on French culture for class IX. Students got an insight of French Art motivated the young francophone on various aspects of French Art forms, heritage and culture of France. Fun games on topics like verbs and articles were enjoyed by class Ix students and helped them to recapitulate their linguistic skills. 19th to 23rd August, Week Various activities were conducted with the motive to enhance the Students of class VI-X 19 language skills. Class discussions were held wherein the importance of Hindi as our national language was highlighted. Students were encouraged to enhance their vocabulary to evolve good and effective public speaking skills. Students dressed as famous poets such as- Mahadevi Verma, Meerabai and Amrita Pritam recited their poems.

Students were told about Krishna's life and his thoughts. Inter house poster making competition was also conducted in the classes on the topics like- Krishna kibaallilaayein, Geeta Saar, Ram-Sitavivah, Raavanvadh and many more. 19th to 23rd August, Sanskrit Week Various activities were conducted as part of Sanskrit week like- Shloka Students of class VI-X 19 recitation, Mahakavyaparichaysum bhashnam, Raksha bandhan sumbhashnam and Sanskrit diwasparichaysum bhashnam. 22nd August, 19 Session on "Drone Mentor session on "Drone Technology" was held in the school by Mr Students of Class VI Technology Akshit from Stem robo Technologies. Students were given introduction to to X basics of drone, different types of drone, difference between RC plane and drone, applications of drone and how to calibrate drone before and during flying..

27th and 28th Hindi Diwas Hindi Diwas is celebrated to inculcate love for the Hindi Language and get Students of Class VI- August, 19 knowledge on importance of the Hindi Diwas. The celebration was XII conducted in the Special Assembly where students recited poems and presented a mono act on the topic-‘Examination’ and a scene from ‘Mahabharata’. Story recitation was also done. 29th August, 19 Community Session Class X students of Govt. Boys Senior Secondary school, Swami Nagar Students of Class VI attended ATL session and got understood the importance of ATL and to X learnt about the basic concepts of electronics like voltage, resistance, current, voltage regulator, LED , switch, connecting wires etc and had hands on activities of LED glowing with and without switch on

breadboard.

August, 19 Committee Activities Literary committee Students of class VI- XII Members of the literary committee conducted ‘just a minute session’ in classes VII A,C and E. The topics given were related to social, environmental and current issues.

Mental Health Committee

The members of the mental health committee conducted an interactive session on substance abuse and risk taking behaviour with the students of class IX, laying emphasis on the correlation of the two topics. The session highlighted the commonality of addictions amongst teenagers, why addictions occur, and how peer pressure often plays a role. The class IX students were encouraged to ask their questions and voice their problems surrounding the topic.

Legal Literacy Committee

The students of the legal literacy committee conducted workshops on various topics for the classes of VI, VII, IX and X. The workshops were conducted the concept of feminism for today's society, illiteracy among the masses of India, and the abrogation of Article 370.

Coding Tech Committee

The coding tech committee organised an intra-school event GLICHT with over 250 participants in various events like programming, Photoshop,

movie editing, gaming etc. 29th August, 19 Club Exhibition A club exhibition was organized wherein the students of various clubs like Students of class VI- Paper Sculpture, Calligraphy and Caricatures, Home Science, Commercial VIII Art, Environment and Gardening, Reader's Club, Photography, English Drama, Hindi Drama, Paper Craft and Recycling, Aero Modelling and Electronics and Robotics displayed the work done by them since the beginning of the session. 30th August, 19 Plantation Drive Eco Club students participated in Plantation Drive at City Students of the Eco Forest under the programme each one plant one. Ten prominent schools Club of participated in the programme. Students planted around 40 saplings in the city forest with the belief of expanding Delhi's green cover. All the students participated enthusiastically in the plantation drive. Each student was given herbal plants to grow in their houses, promoting the habit of creating green areas. Overall the day was full of fun filled activity giving an opportunity to the students to feel a sense of achievement. 19 to 23 August, English Week As a part of the Language week, the students of class IX made comic strips Students of Class IX 19 in groups, from the chapters in their text. The class X students made a and X pictorial representation of proverbs. Both the activities were thoroughly enjoyed and creatively done by them. Their work was displayed as an exhibition. The students of classes XI-XII engaged with the juniors by teaching them grammar concepts and playing some fun word games with them. 27 August, 19 Screening of movie The screening of ‘Mission Mangal’ was organised for the students of class Students of Class VIII ‘Mission Mangal’ VIII and X and X 27 August, 19 Joyful Learning In order to make children know the names of all countries and their Students of Class VI capitals, every week one country is chosen and every time students and to VIII teachers greet each other with its name and capital.

Mrs Jayshree Mehta VIII from Times of India was the resource person. Students were made aware about the importance of the phrase "Impression". Interactive Discussion was held with students about how impression changes matters in life. Adolescence and the positive personality traits was also a part of the session 3rd August, Interactive Session with BVN The parents of classes VII & VIII and the Principal had an Parents of students 19 Parents interactive session. They shared their achievements, issues of class VII and VIII and concerns while patiently listening to eachother. Very meaningful sessions which will bring all closer and take the school forward. 3rd August, Interactive Session BVN An extremely enriching experience for the senior school Teachers Teaching 19 teachers when they attended an interactive session with Mr. Class- VI-XII AP Sharma, Principal, Birla Public School, Doha, Qatar. His

coverage on 'Experiential Learning' made everyone learn, reflect and apply in a better way.Mr. A P Sharma who is a subject expert in Economics with CBSE and three more state boards, reminded the teachers not to be prejudiced in their classes. He emphasized on learning in a natural way through experiencing, processing, reflecting and collaborating. The fun filled activities made the entire session meaningful. 5th August, CBSE Workshop CBSE It was an intense workshop consisting of the happiness Ms.MinakshiKushwa 19 quotient and happiness curriculum initiated by CBSE ha and Ms Mona Chopra 6th August, POCSO Workshop BVN An informative workshop on POCSO was conducted by Students Of Class XI 19 Advocate VaishaliDeshpande, a parent and legal and XII representative for POCSO committee for BVN. It aimed to make the children aware of the different aspects of Juvenile Justice Law and POCSO Act. The children were encouraged to understand their rights as well as their duties to protect themselves and others. 7th August, Business Studies BVN Business Studies Workshop was organized to inform students Students of Class XII 19 Workshop on changes in the pattern of question paper, important questions, how to attempt the paper. Resource person was Prof. AnuragAgnihotri, College of Vocational Studies, Sheikh Sarai 9th August, Author's Meet BVN Renowned scientist and author Srijan Pal Singh visited BVN to Students of Class VI 19 interact with the students of classes from VI to XII and 70 to XII students from other schools. Mr Singh has worked very closely with the former President APJ Abdul Kalam, was also co-author with him, and is currently the CEO of the Kalam Foundation. He taught children few concepts of space science and technology through videos, quizzes, questions answers in

very interesting and friendly manner. He inspired children to ask questions and never to think it late to learn new things. 17th August, Stress Free Living BVN Workshop on Stress Free Living and importance of Teachers 19 meditation was conducted for the teachers by the Bramhkumaris Sister Neeru, Sister Jyoti and Sister Nidhi. They stressed on the need to practice Rajyoga which is the art of thinking. All our thoughts are from within and vibrate around us. 20th August, Financial Literacy BVN A Financial Literacy Workshop was conducted by Prof. Students of Class XI 19 Workshop AnuragAgnihotri. Important terms related to stock market and XII were discussed. It was a very effective workshop. 21st August, Science Workshop BVN The workshop served as a bridge between the students of Students of class VII 19 class XI and the students of class VII with the former becoming the resource persons and the latter becoming the participants. With topics ranging from 'Evolution of Homosapiens' to 'Black holes' to ‘Cyber security’, the workshops served as fun-filled moments for interactive learning and senior-junior camaraderie. 21stAugust, History Workshops BVN As part of subject week, workshops were conducted by Class Students of class VIII 19 XII G students for class VIII students. The topics ranged from the Indian National movement to Buddhism in Indian History.
