A Unique Opportunity Over an 8-week curriculum hosted by , 45 high school girls (ages 14-18) are completing a crash course in mobile programming and entrepreneurship. With the help of a dedicated team of volunteer mentors and teachers from all over the bay area, the girls have learned to develop mobile apps using a pre-release version of a visual programming language called Google App Inventor.

A Unique Curriculum

During the first 4 weeks, the bi-weekly curriculum focused on hands-on, team-centered learning of programming concepts and logic. The last 4 weeks have been filled with modules on business plan development, marketing, pitch coaching, and other entrepreneurial skills, along with higher-level coding instruction.

In between training modules, the girls have split into teams to plan and create their own Google Android mobile apps, business plans, marketing and revenue strategies, and concise funding pitches, under the close guidance of professional mentors.

A Unique Team Besides our fantastic team of volunteers and mentors, guest speakers and coaches include Bill Trenchard, Maha Ibrahim, Joyce Chung, Theresa Lina Stevens, and many more.

Pitch Night: April 22nd, 5:30pm - 8:30pm, Microsoft Campus - Mountain View, CA The Technovation Challenge pilot program is ending with a bang on pitch night - we've got a great program planned. The teams of girls will be pitching their products to a stadium audience and a judging panel of prominent venture capitalists and industry executives - including Katherine Barr of MDV, Adeo Ressi of The Funded, and Theresea Gouw-Ranzetta of Accel. Diane Greene, founder of VMware, will deliver the keynote address.
