Keeping You Informed of Your Child’s Progress

Close monitoring of students’ progress and clear target setting ensures students are able to meet their potential. It allows early identification of the need for support and intervention. It also allows us to recognise and celebrate good effort and achievement. The use of student data is rigorous at The East Manchester Academy.

Each student is set a target level or grade at the beginning of the year. Families are informed of their child’s progress towards these targets six times a year. There will be opportunities for you to meet with your child’s tutor to discuss their academic progress and personal achievement at a student-led Academic Tutorial.

If students are to become effective learners, they need to take responsibility for their own learning, progress and targets. We will be teaching students to manage the information for themselves, so they can keep you and their tutor informed of what they are doing well and where they need to improve their performance. If families have any concerns over learning or progress at any time, please contact your child’s Form Tutor in the first instance and then their Pastoral Leader.

Parents can follow us on Twitter, YouTube and Facebook. EDUCATION AND LEADERSHIP TRUST INFORMATION
