A 1-1 draw in Austria on UEFA Europa League Matchday 3 has amped up the pressure on both sides with Juventus and FC Salzburg still seeking a first Group A win as they go head-to-head once more in Turin. Previous meetings • The sides met for the first time on Matchday 3. • Juventus's record in 15 games against Austrian sides reads W12 D2 L1 (W7 D0 L0 at home). However, that sole loss remains their heaviest ever European defeat, as they went down 7-0 at Wiener SC in the 1958/59 European Champion Clubs' Cup preliminary round on 1 October 1958. • Salzburg's record in 11 games against Italian opposition reads W3 D1 L7 (W2 D0 L3 in Italy). Match background • Juventus have not lost in seven European games this season, but draws in their opening three Group A fixtures ended a four-match winning streak. • The Turin side are unbeaten in five European home contests since FC Bayern München won 4-1 at the Stadio Olimpico in the UEFA Champions League group stage on 8 December 2009. • Salzburg are five games without a win in Europe. • They have also not won in five European away fixtures – including four this season – since a 1-0 victory at Villarreal CF in the final game of last season's UEFA Europa League group stage. That means they have not won a game on their travels in UEFA club competition in 2010. Team facts • This will be Juventus's 350th game in UEFA club competition, with the previous 349 having ended W194 D73 L82. They have more experience than any other side in the group stage. • Juventus and SSC Napoli have been caught offside fewer than any other side in the group stage this season, with the flag being raised against them just twice each in the first three matchdays. • Juventus coach represented the likes of Udinese Calcio and UC Sampdoria as a player. The highlights of his long coaching career include marshalling AS Roma in the 2004/05 UEFA Champions League, leading US Città di Palermo to the 2005/06 UEFA Cup group stage and finishing fourth in with Sampdoria last season. He took over at Juve in the summer. • Salzburg's coach Huub Stevens, once a defender for SC Fortuna Sittard and PSV Eindhoven, was capped 18 times by the Netherlands. His biggest achievements in management were winning the 1996/97 UEFA Cup and two German Cups with FC Schalke 04. He won an Austrian title last season in his first campaign as Salzburg boss. • With two victories over Lazio last season as Salzburg coach and four meetings with FC Internazionale Milano during his time at Schalke, Stevens' record as a coach against Italian opposition reads W3 D1 L2 (W1 D1 L2 in Italy).
