The epicentre of all the action, Circular Quay is a must visit for guests of . At the core of the three-kilometre Light Walk, Circular Quay offers guests a surprising and exciting mix of projections, sculptures and installations from east to west.

First Fleet Park will be completely transformed into a technology-geared, innovative and interactive Electric Playground courtesy of Samsung Electronics – from picture- perfect moments and retro fun with a modern twist, to an artist in residence inside the Samsung Galaxy Studio, this hands-on hub will be a huge hit with children, adults, families and all.

Two of Sydney’s most iconic – the Museum of Contemporary Art and Customs House – will also be transformed by emotive projections, while the installations around the Sydney Harbour foreshore will delight and stir discussion among visitors.

Highlights include:

 Take a step into a tech-filled wonderland. Samsung Electronics Australia present a technology-enabled, playground featuring not one, but two large-scale activations including the Samsung Electric Playground and Samsung Galaxy Studio. The Samsung Electric Playground invites guests into a , sound and imagination powered by advanced mobile technology. With a multitude of experiences, festival goers can free their inner child and explore Galaxy S10-inspired attractions. These include a field of over 320 dynamic light poles, 23 of which will they can control directly; a 6.5-metre illuminated Infinity Slide; and an elevated view of picturesque Sydney Harbour from the Sky Walk platform. Samsung Galaxy Studio is an immersive space that boasts tailored light experiences that are inspired by guests own unique irises and heartbeats generating their very own installations. The Samsung Galaxy Studio also features a one-of-a-kind interactive art piece by up-and- coming Australian artist George Rose.

• This year many installations look deeper into environmental issues. Through a series of traditional totem poles, Ocean Sentinels highlights the impact of and the Pacific Island nations under threat from sea level rise due to human-induced climate change and those suffering the impacts of ocean plastic pollution. Each totem has been scanned and then 3D printed from 100% recycled plastic filament.

• The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia will be transformed by award-winning Australian-Columbian artist Claudia Nicholson who, together with light veterans Spinifex Group, reimagine her vibrant artworks into Let Me Down, an animated cycle of creation, destruction and regeneration underscored by the cool and contemporary sounds of Lonelyspeck. A romantic homage to her birth country of Colombia, Nicholson engages with Latinx cultural traditions, remixing them with pop culture references and brand identities to explore her complex transnational heritage.

• The façade of Customs House is once again transformed to become an aquatic wonderland in Under the Harbour by Spinifex Group, sure to delight children and adults alike. The watery world with neon sea creatures, botanical wonderlands, and unclassified oddities will provide a playful and exquisite escape into an extraordinary underwater fantasy certain to inspire audiences and deepen the appreciation of Sydney’s aquatic haven.

 The Royal Flying Doctor Service will have a pop-up collection point and merchandise stall in front of Customs House, reflecting the organisation’s place as charity partner of Vivid Sydney 2019. RFDS South East Section services regional and rural – the scope includes 24 hour aeromedical retrievals, preventative healthcare, mental health services, specialist services including chronic disease management, oral healthcare, women’s/child/family health and alcohol and drug addiction services. In 2017/18 RFDS SES flew 5.1 million kilometres in 17 aircrafts, operated 10 road vehicles and one dental van; conducted 4804 clinics and more than 38,500 consultations PLUS conducted 2,300+ mental health/Alcohol and Other Drug face-to-face consultations.
