editor’s note

It’s about that time again: A new year is upon us, which means new beginnings and the utmost attempts for self- betterment. Before looking ahead, however, I would like to offer a word of thanks to our readers, our leaders, and our staffs at the Embassy for their guidance and support in each of their respective duties within our mission for the country.

It is without a doubt that we have a mountain of tasks in front of us next year. However, if we trust in devoting faithfully to the task assigned, either at home or abroad, we will accomplish these achievements far more splendid than ever before.

As this year draws to a close, we can look back and enumerate the accomplishments of the actuarial profession as we are well poised to make significant strides in the year ahead. CARACAS | Ministerial Meeting of the NAM Coordination Bureau

In commemoration with the 52nd ASEAN Day, the ASEAN Committee in Caracas hosted ASEAN+ Bowling Tournament 2019. This year, Malaysian won the overall tournament and the best player under female category. Thank you for hosting this year and other countries that participated.

#MySC’19 The Ministry of Youth and Sports rebranded the annual National Sports Day by introducing the 2019 Malaysia Sports Challenge (MySC’19), which is a month long sports and fitness programme aimed at transforming Malaysia into a sporting nation.

The Embassy took this opportunity to promote two sports activities /challenges among the diplomatic corps in Caracas, namely jungle trekking and soccer match, as a way to provide more access and awareness towards fitness and sporting life. Both sports activities took place in the month of October.

13 July: PERWAKILAN Caracas hosted Family Outing II to Colonia Tovar at Aragua State. Colonia Tova is commonly known as the Grand Duchy of Baden (or German Town), and the best producer of temperate crops such as peaches, strawberries, carrots, cabbage, and potatoes, due to its high altitude which is almost 2,200 m. above the sea level in the central coastal mountains of the Venezuelan coastal range.
