DECEMBER 2020 LOOK WHAT’S INSIDE ~ HONORING OUR VETERANS ~ Thank you to all who honored our Veterans on November 9th with a “Grab ‘n Go” Roast Pork CABLE TV Programs 2 lunch. Senator Walter Timilty, W.B. Town Administrator David Gagne, Selectmen Anthony Kinahan Men’s Morning Coffee and Meri Anderson, Veterans Agent Walter Thayer, Chair of the COA Board of Directors Bruce Ladies Afternoon Tea Holmquist, MSHS Administration, staff and students, WB Police and Fire Departments, and Jim “The Swedish Weaving DJ Guy” greeted all 60 veterans with a “thank you for your service” posters, applause, music and cheers. There was a continuous “parade” of cars driving through the parking lot, each stopping for a Movie & Munchies 3 gift bag of goodies, a delicious lunch, and then for a commemorative carnation. Another big thank Tax Work-Off Program you goes to Bill Kovatis for the stunning display of flags and banners strategically placed along the J.O.Y. Inc. Sign-up parade route. Swedish Weaving is a fairly simple surface darning technique that produces geometric and linear designs on a particular type of fabric, called huck fabric. This weaving technique can be as simple or as complicated as you want to make it. If you’d like to try a relatively simple and inexpensive embroidery technique that can produce some pretty results, why not give it a try? SENIOR TAX WORK-OFF PROGRAM We will once again be offering seniors 60+ years old who own their own home in West Bridgewater the opportunity to participate in the Senior Tax Work-Off Program. Applications and packets will be available at the WB COA office the first week in January 2021 and must be completed and returned to the COA by January 15th. A tax work off participant will be credited a maximum of $825 per household for 64.5 hours of work to be applied directly to their February 2022 real estate tax bill. Please be aware there is no guarantee that all appli- cants will be placed. Applicants must demonstrate a financial need according to the income

guidelines. Please contact Fran Deibel at the COA for more information.
