NEW YORK YANKEES NOTES  Earned their first win of 2015…their 1-1 record marks their best start since going 2-0 to begin the 2011 season…had started 0-2 each of the past three seasons (2012-14).  Are 21-4 at home against the Blue Jays since 9/19/12 and 30-6 since 5/24/11.  The Yankees scored three runs and batted around in the eighth inning to erase a 3-1 deficit…the half-inning took 23 minutes…had scored just two runs in their first 16 of 2015.  RHP Michael Pineda (6.0IP, 6H, 2R/2ER, 1BB, 6K) has recorded 6.0IP and allowed 2ER-or-fewer in each of his last three starts vs. the Blue Jays but is winless in all three (0-2)…in 14 starts as a Yankee, has recorded at least 6.0IP and allowed 2ER-or-fewer in 10 of them.  LHP Andrew Miller (1.0IP, 1K) earned his second career save in his Yankees debut tonight.  CF Jacoby Ellsbury (2-for-2, 2R, 2BB, 1SB) reached base four times, his most times on base since reaching five times (4-for-4, 1BB) on 7/20/14 vs. Cincinnati…recorded the Yankees’ first stolen base of the season in the sixth…scored the tying on C Brian McCann’s HBP in the eighth.  3B Chase Headley (2-for-4, 1RBI) singled home the go-ahead run in the eighth…marked his third game-winning RBI in the eighth inning or later as a Yankee (had a walk-off in Yankees debut vs. Texas on 7/22/14 and a walk-off HR vs. Boston on 9/4/14)…had the Yankees’ first multi- game of 2015…the switch-hitter batted right-handed in all three plate appearances against Toronto starter RHP R.A. Dickey, including a seventh-inning single.  1B Mark Teixeira (1-for-3, 1 double, 1BB) collected his first hit of the season with a double in his first at-bat…the switch-hitter batted right-handed in all three plate appearances against Toronto starter RHP R.A. TORONTO BLUE JAYS NOTES  The Blue Jays have lost 21 of their last 25 and 30 of their last 36 games in the Bronx…Toronto is now 9-12 in their last 21 games against the Yankees.  RHP R.A. Dickey (6.1IP, 4H, 1ER, 3BB, 4K) is now winless in his last four starts at …is now 6-3 with a 2.57 ERA (84.2IP, 24ER) in 17 games (11 starts) against the Yankees…batters went 0-for-5 against him with runners in scoring position.  Has not won a season debut with the Blue Jays as he lost two consecutive starts from 2013-14.  Has thrown at least 6.0IP in 20 of his last 21 games.  DH Edwin Encarnacion (2-for-4) has reached base safely in 12 of his last 13 games against the Yankees…is batting .387 (19-for-49) with 8R, 4HR and 9RBI over that stretch.  2B Devon Travis (2-for-4, 1RBI) and Encarnacion were the only Blue Jays to record multi-hit games…has RBI in each of his first two Major League games.  RHP (0.2IP, 1K) appeared in his second consecutive game and did not allow a hit.  LHP (0.1IP, 1H, 1BB, 1K) recorded his fifth career blown save, allowing the tying run by hitting McCann with the bases loaded in the eighth inning.  RHP (0.2IP, 1K) retired both batters and recorded his first in his Major League debut.
