Jim Gaffigan has proven himself as a major talent to a wide range of audiences, achieving accolades and awards for his stand- up comedy, acting and writing. His clever, quiet style has made him one of the top five most successful touring comedians in the country today and his CDs and DVDs have reached platinum status. Currently, Gaffigan stars in the highly-acclaimed Broadway play "That Championship Season" along with Brian Cox, Chris Noth, Jason Patric and Kiefer Sutherland. Gaffigan has had an unprecedented number of appearances on "Late Night with David Letterman" and "Conan." His writing and voice work on the animated series "Pale Force" on "Conan" led to Broadband Emmy and Webby Award nominations. PS 11 is a wonderfully diverse school with a large percentage of the population qualifying for “free lunch”. The Department of Education provides the basics, but it’s up to the community to provide everything else. The PS11 PTA has made it their mission to make up for this shortfall and more with innovative fundraisers like Comedy For A Cause. Over the past four years, our comedy benefit has raised enough money to enable the PTA to pay for all the school supplies for over 900 students, enrichment programs in the arts (Rioult dance, Rosie's Theater Kids, Julliard Music, Circle in the Square playwriting, etc.), additional teachers to help reduce class size, math and literacy consultants, teacher development and so much more. PS11 was chosen by the New York City Schools Chancellor as a Model School to partner up with two other elementary schools to show them how they can improve practices. Each year, our comedy benefit sells out in a matter of hours.     Cast Biographies RILEY KEOUGH (Christine Reade) Riley Keough, 26, is one of Hollywood’s rising stars. At the age of 12, she appeared in her first campaign for Tommy Hilfiger and at the age of 15 she ignited a media firestorm when she walked the runway for Christian Dior. It is always very flattering. It feels like a combination of a lot of amazing things. It is Super Bowl week so there are people arriving on Wednesday who don’t even know about the show who will probably want to go. What can the audience expect? It is hard to describe my act without making it sound bad. I am observational comedian. I focus on the mundane. An exploration of the id. What we do and what we really want to do. I am that thought in the morning where you don’t want to get up and you just want to eat bacon all day. How do you keep it fresh for yourself? Always writing. Standup comedy, I love it so much. You really are the writer, producer and performer in a lot of ways. New material is the lifeblood of any comedian. Coming out with new material, it is so fun. There is no script you have to stick to.
