D’Amour also served as the lead hitting instructor for the 2009 Doug Gillis summer camp in Midland, Mich. Missouri’s 2009 pitching staff turned in the ninth best ERA in the nation (1.47), while senior right- handed hurler Stacy Delaney closed out her final campaign with a 1.32 ERA, good enough for 17th best in the country. Tallying 10 solo shutouts, newcomer Chelsea Thomas’ mark stood 19th in the nation. Additionally, Delaney and Thomas combined for three no hitters in 2009.

Allen Named NSCA All-American Recent Missouri graduate Andee Allen (Barnhart, Mo.) was awarded the National Strength and Conditioning (NSCA) Athlete of the Year award. Recognized for her dedication to strength training and conditioning, the Tiger second baseman is one of 206 collegiate athletes from 119 schools to earn the annual accolade. A member of Missouri’s Women’s College World Series softball squad, Allen was nominated for the award based on her performance in the weight room as well as her commitment to strength training and conditioning. Allen closed out her Tiger softball career with a .302 average. In 660 at bats, Allen managed 199 hits, good enough for sixth best in the Missouri career hits record book. Additionally, Allen notched 41 doubles, scored 120 runs and was credited with 103 RBI, all marks good enough to stand top-10 of the record books.

Mizzou Closes 2009 at No. 8 The Missouri softball team concluded the 2009 campaign with an eighth place ranking, its highest showing ever in the end-of-season National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) poll. Missouri’s previous best end-of-season ranking was 12th in 1997. Wrapping up the year at the 28th annual Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City, Okla., the Tigers managed a 50-12 record that included wins against several of the nation’s toughest opponents. In four months, Missouri met with seven of the final top-25 ranked squads turning in a 9-6 record against its ranked foes. Seventeen members of the 2009 Tiger squad return for the 2010 campaign.
