CARMINE ISACCO – HEAD COACH LUCA FORNO – ASSOCIATE COACH Carmine Isacco was named the head Luca Forno joined the Lions coaching staff in 2010 after coach of the Lions men’s soccer team in four seasons as a player on the team. LIONS IN IN PURSUIT OF SIXTH NATIONAL TITLE The York University Lions men’s soccer team is in the hunt for its sixth national title in program history this weekend as the U SPORTS championships kick off at the Universite de Montreal on Thursday.

The eight-team tournament runs until Sunday, with the gold-medal final set for 2:30pm on the stadium field at CEPSUM. All 11 games will be webcast on usports.live.

The Lions are competing at the national tournament for the seventh straight year but are looking to reach the medal round for the first time since 2015, when they won their second of back-to-back national banners on home turf at Alumni Field. They’ve since fallen in the quarter-final round three straight years en route to a fifth-place finish in 2017 and sixth-place results in 2016 and last year.
