Joan Miro 15 Heraclitus od Ephesus. Adrien Maeght, Paris 1965. An open door towards the universe, where the Sun becomes its center and the only source of light in constant change. The artist is driven from this source of power to an evocative journey to the soul of the earth, scavenging ancestral images, apparently repetitive, but always different. The Sun, a little dash of red or a large patch of orange or pink, changes colors and positions, dancing around the main body of the drawing, always dark, strong, primitive, that opposes itself to the light. Title page handwritten by Picasso and reproduced in facsimile, illustrated with drawings, washes and sketches from 3 notebooks made by Picasso for this edition, in brilliant color and beautifully reproduced. The portfolio contains: one original lithograph on Arches wove, dated 7.2.61 in plate, and signed in pencil by Picasso. The lithograph is printed on the recto of the 2nd leaf of a sheet folded in two in order to create a protection over the lithograph, with title and justification, on the recto of the opposite page; and a suite of 16 prints in color on Arches wove. Six of ten lithographs are signed on the stone. The portfolio presents a collection of 10 lithographs in color, reproducing 10 Picasso paintings, drawings and collages created between 1910 and 1914, which were donated to the Musee National d’Art Modern, in Paris, by Marie Cuttoli-Henri Laugier.
