Performance Report PERFORMANCE REPORT The 26th Annual Palm Beach Holiday Boat Parade and Toy Drive spread cheer to hundreds of thousands of people watching from the parade route and from the comfort of their own homes on December 5th and again airing on December 13 on WPBF Channel 25. The parade made its way up the Intracoastal Waterway from North Palm Beach to the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse. Approximately 5,500 toys were collected by a fleet of volunteer boats, many of which carried uniformed Marines. Toys for Tots and Little Smiles reported the total number of toys collected in 2020 is 11,273. Members of the community donated $5,000, which all went towards toy purchases for Toys for Tots and Little Smiles. Scoring during the parade was carried out by a prestigious group of judges. This year’s panel of judges included local Freedom Boat Club 11,273 Owner Dan Lund, Palm Beach County Commissioner Maria Marino, TOYS COLLECTED IN 2020 State Representative John Snyder, Sea Land Insurance President Lori Sousa, Jupiter Mayor Todd Wodraska, and former Palm Beach County Commissioner Karen Marcus. The MIAPBC hosts the Palm Beach Holiday Boat Parade (PBHBP) and Toy Drive. As families seek assistance in bringing joy to children this holiday season, the MIAPBC is asking members of the community and businesses for support. “We’re encouraging people to enjoy this year’s Palm Beach Holiday Boat Parade and support the Toy Drive if able,” says Freeman. “The parade and toy drive give everyone in our community an opportunity to celebrate the holiday season,” she continues. The 26th Annual PBHBP and 21st Annual Toy Drive supporting Toys for Tots and Little Smiles is set for December 5, 2020. The parade, which will include the only traveling fireworks show of the year in Palm Beach County, will feature dozens of holiday-themed boats and yachts traveling on the Intracoastal Waterway from North Palm Beach to the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse. / PRESS RELEASES DISTRIBUTED: 4 • The Palm Beach Post, Holiday boat parade returns for 26th year Saturday, By Jodie Wagner, Posted Dec. 1, 2020 at 1:26 PM • Sun-Sentinel, These holiday boat parades hit the waterways this weekend:, By: PHILLIP VALYS, Posted: DEC 11, 2020 AT 1:29 PM • Palm Beach Illustrated, All Aboard for the Palm Beach Holiday Boat Parade, By Site Staff -December 3, 2020 • Sun-Sentinel, Pandemic plunders another holiday boat parade, By ROD STAFFORD HAGWOOD, OCT 21, 2020 AT 12:40 PM • In Florida, Palm Beach Holiday Boat Parade Kicks Off at 1000 NORTH, • Palm Beach Florida Weekly, Boat parade to light the water, collect gifts, December 03, 2020 • Jupiter Magazine, Insiders Guide, Holiday Boat Parade, By Site Staff -December 2, 2020 • Waterfront Times, Fewer Boat Parades to Celebrate 2020 Holidays • TCPalm.com, Christmas boat parades deck the waters, By Laurie K. Of these ten orga- nizations, we found there are 118 people who sit on 288 different Ameri- can and international corporate boards proving a close on-going interlock between big media and corporate America. We found media directors who also were former Senators or Representatives in the House such as Sam Nunn (Disney) and William Cohen (Viacom). Board members served at the FCC such as William Kennard (New York Times) and Dennis FitzSimmons (Tribune Company) showing revolving door relationships with big media andU.S. government officials. These ten big media organizations are the main source of news for most Americans. Their corporate ties require us to continually scrutinize the qual- ity of their news for bias. Disney owns ABC so we wonder how the board of Disney reacts to negative news about their board of directors friends such as Halliburton or Boeing. We see board members with connections to Ford, Kraft, and Kimberly-Clark who employ tens of thousands of Americans. The Commission has before it for consideration the applications to transfer control of the CBS Corporation (“CBS”) and its various licensee subsidiaries to Viacom, Inc. (“Viacom”).1 Petitions to deny the applications were filed by the American Cable Association (“ACA”), the National Black Media Coalition (“NBMC”), the WEYS Television Corporation (“WEYS”), and a group of petitioners objecting to certain broadcasts made by Howard Stern (“the Stern Petitioners”).2 In addition, the A.H. Belo Corporation (“Belo”) filed a letter opposing the applications after the petition to deny period had expired.3 1 A complete list of the applications filed and the licenses to be transferred is attached as Exhibit A. 2 CBS and Viacom argued that the various petitioners do not have standing. However, we have reviewed the petitions and will address the arguments raised in them. In addition to the petitioners to deny, a number of individuals filed letters commenting on the proceeding. Those letters have been reviewed and considered in reaching our decision here.
